out of paper. Now I can just get some 1/8" steel and trace my pattern and bend them up. I am thinking of having a long piece bent up and then I can cut it to length and sell the rest. What do you think?

If I use duct tape to reinforce I think it will be fine. LOL

Pizza box is thicker and has pizza grease to help keep the moisture out and you should be fine with duct tape. 8)

Looking good. I do the same thing. I can't pay good money for something that I can do myself.

An eigth is enough ? I would think atleast 3/16" if not a 1/4" thickness.

What will you use to attach the shackes to the frame? Is there a tube or something that you could fit into the factory frame hole that will accept the bushings?
The front boxes look good.

Hey George, you have to open up the hole to 1 inch to accept the tube and bushings.I also added a big washer on the outside for added strength.I just finished this,it was fun drilling with the spare tire well in the way.(I used a right angle drill)

Thanks Pettyblue, and SWEET job on the install!
Where does a guy get this tube from, or is it just regular 1" ID tubing??

George

Yeah, just the 1 inch tubing, width is about 2 inches.Basicly the rear hanger bushings should fit snug.I just taced the tube in place then welded the washer over it.

Looks good nice work. I would think an 1/8th should be enough but I have seen people weld another plate on where the spring blot goes through.

Thats what I was thinkin make a 2"x2" plate and weld where the hole is. Surely to god that will hold.

Here are the measurement. I thought I would would just draw it. It is not to scale. First pic are profile pics the second is how it would look before you cut it out.
