I will get back to that later. I had to weld StuBBle’s skin back on the frame. Pretty happy with my first hood skin remove, repair and reinstall.

Spring time. StuBBle and Uncanny had to trade spots. Can still roll StuBBle out to work on but now I can take Uncanny to work on the nice days.

I have driven Uncanny through the later summer when it wasn’t way too hot to enjoy. He has low oil pressure when warm. I have a 1973 340 and matching 727 trans from a road runner. That will be the winter upgrade. Along with an 8 3/4 I have here. Getting it ready for paint. It will remain stock with the thermobog and all. The engine was in good shape. Quite clean inside, no sludge. I installed a new timing chain, it will get a new water pump and the rest looks ok. But I have to put it on a run stand to determine the true condition.

Is that a Little Red Express?

It needs another coat of pumpkin. I put Chevy orange underneath as a base because it covers well. Then Hemi on top. But it isn’t quite pumpkiny enough. Cuda Chic’s handy work will top the heads.

How did you get that paper towel in there George?

I had to do a double take! I guess it wouldn't really hurt anything, but wow.

I looked at the vin on it and it is not the trans that matches the 340. So at some point in it's life they replaced it. But it does have the factory high stall converter so at least they did that when they swapped it out. Must have done a filter at the time and stuffed that up there, crazy. Not sure how to tell if it has any perf perks.

That orange sealer was a clue someone was inside before. Back in the day the high volume transmission shops would have rebuilt ones on the shelf and just swap them. Nobody was concerned about matching numbers.

That’s just the special very very rare extra ‘loose filter’ option to provide triple filtering on the fluid. You can get replacement filters from bounty.

Motor is looking good!
