Hey all, it was a boys night out last night, and Ian and I, and Ians best friend and his dad went to the Monster Jam in Detroit. Max D was there and Gravedigger and a bunch of other trucks including my "former" favorite...Mopar Magic!!! Why former you ask??? Well, during the party in the pits I was talking to the driver and looking over the truck and I asked the driver if they were running a Hemi. His answer.... "Naw, it's a Chevy motor"!!!! WTF???? It felt like someone had spun me around and hit me in the gut!!! Well, I showed him my Mopar shirt I was wearing and told him I was gonna use my Mopar Magic shirt as an oil rag in the garage next time MY Mopar had a leak!!! Even Ian was put out by it, and from then on whenever he was out there during a race of freestyle, we kept on yelling out expeletives, like...Chevy Magic... or Chevy Lover!!! I'm so dejected, I need a cookie!!! Geof

I would have told him to change the name!!

Yeah that should be some kind of name brand infringement or something. That is a bunch of bullshit. I had a friend that said he was going to stick the "all powerful 383 stroker motor" into a 65 Dart that he had and I told him if he did I would kill him and make it very slow and painful while I beat him with a connecting rod from a Mopar motor... LOL

Well I guess now we know how all the Ford/ GM bodied Funny car guys feel that run Hemis!!!

Heck, shoot p'shaw dagnabbit.... the only good thing is they are still showing the MOPAR name...... with all the bankrupt,Cerberus Fiat ****, I have to believe that commercial entertainers do not share the LOVE of MOPARS but simply want a lightweight engine that they can get replacements and parts for on an ongoing basis....for a number of years MOPAR has been kinda questionable in that department......so if they look down the road and see that they may have issues getting parts or engines steady from ONE supplier....it is not unreasonable to get them from another and keep the show going on!!!
Typically the ONLY time you ever see those engines is when the truck is flipped over and it is kinda hard to distinguish a motor's manufacturer by looking at a truck flipping thru the air or that ends up on its side or roof......
No biggy by me it is a well known fact that Chevy engines are more readily available and far less expensive to obtain and maintain so this does not come as much of a shock!!! AND being on a MOPAR site we are kinda one sided by default. IF I was running a business ( like grave digger etc etc) that called for the regular destruction of a motor by flipping the truck all over hells half acre and beating the living bejesus out of it at every show....I would OPT for the cheapest replacement motor/drivetrain I could find.....this is about bottom line NOT brand loyalty.....they display the mopar name and for most people that vehicle has a mopar engine in it....HELL most people today cant tell the difference between a NOVA and A DUSTER anyway.......... I will still eat a cookie, but I am not at all surprised or dismayed

Y'all are making me feel better now, and the cookies are settling me down a bit also!! You guys are right, most people don't know, or care whats under the bonnet, and couldn't tell if it was upside down and sticking in their face. And the point about the funny cars and dragsters hit it on the head too!!!

But, with that said, if I come down to the Autorama and Paul has a Chevy motor stuck in the 66, I'm gonna need more than a batch of cookies to calm me down!!!LOL!!! Please don't do it Paul, we gotta have one hero left in this world!!! Hows the last minute thrash going??? Hope you're on track to make us all proud!!! Geof

THRASH is an excellent word!!! AND have no fear, under MY bonnet is a nicely assembled mildly modified MOPAR 340 ( dressed like a 273) followed by a "slightly modified" 727 and topped off with a 355 sure grip.....100% Pentastar products and EVERYTHING save a few LED lights 100% made in the good old USA with assembly split between Mt Clemens Michigan & Saint Clair Shores Michigan

my brother hung out with the ramminator driver at a show off in town and he sports a hemi with a 1550 horses to boot so having a chubby motor so you have on hand parts is crap
