I was worried about yall out on the road in the storm's Cliff, Looks like the worst of it is North east of you now, Stay safe and I hope the rest of your trip is more relaxing for you and your family.

Thanks memike right now there is a flash flood warning here in TN. That is reason we are waiting until tomorrow morning to leave.

thats a good idea cliff. i also, here in the mountains of va, have gotten 9 inches of rain since yesterday, and it is still downpouring!, plus, they say rain the rest of the week. it has rained here torentially for the past8 hrs straight, with not a single slow up point.

i did not know the skies could hold this much rain..lol

Thanks every one right now we are in a hotel outside of Knoxville. The rain and our mountains took it's toll on me I got the shakes read bad at 5:00 this morning and the wife got sick. So we will pick up again tomorrow.The rains have been real hard.

I almost burned up my trans going up the mountains of Pisgah National Forest. I caught it in time and pulled over to let it cool with the engine running. 15 mph going up that part and average speed of 35-45 mph because of the rain. Took a 3 hour break at a rest area in the Gorge to let everything cool off and some rest.

So far so good. Checked in a Super 8 Motel those suckers got a heck or a racket going on we had to pay for 2 days because of the check out time was 11:00. Thats ok because my dog is the room with us.

You got one more hard pull up the mountain west of Knoxville, so you might ought to hit that one as early as possible while it's cool. The other side going down is pretty long so watch your brakes on that one.

After that it's roller coaster up and down all the way to Memphis.

I was out that way on I-40 through AR and OK last year and there was a lot of road work going on and what wasn't being worked on was rough, rough, rough, so watch the potholes.

Have a safe trip.

They predict our Drought to continue till November.
Hey 340plot,I seen one just as big in My rear view mirror going 90mph on Hwy 71 backing in 80's off course it never came within 1/4 mile of me.

The car is great. The Van that one is a tough one with all the weight inside and a trailer. Once we get on level ground I hope it gets better.
