Nice job, comin right along. Hard on the pocket book is right!

I used to have a 64 Dart SW (slanter w/a three by the knee) & a convert (273 4-speed). The rag is still in the family, many fond memories in that car. In family since '79

Keep the pics comin' :)

Thanks guys. Yes, at times money is a problem buy my small parts business seems to keep up. I'm hoping for a large infusion in January when my 71 Charger goes on the block at the Russo and Steel auction in Phoenix.

I sold my 71 Charger (Super Bee) earlier this year too. FE5/blk stripes. Orig paint & stripes, rust free 383 column a/c for 9k. My dad is bringing a car or two down to AZ as well in Jan. 65 Satellite triple black rag 383 auto & a 64 Sport Fury 426 4 speed blk/blk with a white top 60k orig. orig paint etc... Nicest Mopar I have driven to date, tight car! Will be sad to see them go, especially when the car maket is so low...

What is your 71 Charge~? Color, mtr/trans etc...

It's a 71 SE. Been resto mod'd. It's GY8 Gold with all the R/T trim. Has a 451 ci stroker. It's on the Russo Steel site

Mind if I ask if the 451 was everything that they say it is? I have everything but heads and am dying to know things about them.

Pretty much the torque charactoristics of a hemi without the cost. Idles smooth even with the A/C running. Put your foot in it and hang on

Thought I would update on trhe car. Looks like we'll squirt some paint (red) on the interior next week the shoot the body. Getting close. My good friend at B&B Auto Restorations is doing the body and paint. These are some of his guys. The guy in the car is an excellent body man.

Your cookin on that baby and it is really paying off isn't it. I am going to bet the paint is going to look good, can't wait.

Red interior paint first then the exterior. As you can tell I like white. Oh, and if anyone has a wood grain steering wheel for a Dodge I'm in the market.

Here's some pics of the vert pretty much ready to paint. Red for the interior panels first then the white exterior.

The vert is looking good. Did you have the body media blasted or sanded down. Just curious how many hours it took to sand it down if they did. I'm wondering if machine sanding is worth the savings compared to media blasting. Did your car have one or two paint jobs to remove. My blue 64 sedan has a couple layers of paint on it might take a long time to sand down. Well keep it up looks great. Jayson

It was machine sanded. I haven't been too thrilled with media blasting. With soda, it gets into every crevis and you pretty much have to give the body a bath. Too cold here for that. It took a week to get it to where it's at now. pretty much one guy on it. That includes welding up some of the side trim holes as well as some of the other trim holes I am going to do without. It had two layers of paint so it was pretty much an easy job to sand down. This is the second car I've had someone else do the body work. With my bad knees and shoulders I just can't do it anymore. I mainly do the mechanicals now. The red interior paint will go on first and then the base clear. Staying with the Dodge truck white, same as my post car. I may do the side stripe same as your car. I like the stance and looks of your 64. Can you post another side pic of your car?

Got it squirted today, hood and deck lid tomorrow. Has a few sins but they can be fixed. Please excuse the painter showing his IQ.

Nothing like a fresh paint job. I like the way you layed out the stripe that was a good idea using the body line as a break point. Jayson

We actually used a picture of your car to lay the stripe. Only difference is that I'm not using the chrome trim. Your stripe appears to be a little higher above the line.

Pic taken after car was taken out of the booth. The hood and deck lid needed some more work so will probably be painted next week.

Have a kinda set-back in the engine department. Guy doing the machinework called last night and I went over to see what was up. We thought we could get away with a hone since the bores were so straight and would clean up. Well he found some small rust pits along the ring travel that the hone won't take out without ending with too much side clearance. So, next step is to bore the block to .040. Problem is getting pistons.
Cheapest found were Egge at $300 fo a set. Wasn't counting on this expense.
oh well!!
