My 74 Duster project

-
Looks like you making some good progress, great job....

Thanks. I have a long way to go yet, but it is getting there.

I've been watching your build as well. It looks great so far. As far as mine, I wish I would have had the money to replace the quarters on mine. It would have been much faster.

Keep up the nice work on yours.

your doing some nice work there!

I am in the middle of doing the same stuff to my 72 duster (link to my build thread is in my signature below).

its not fun doing all that metal work.....I still have more to go even lol.

good luck and keep up the great work!

Thanks Jarrod. I have been watching your build as well and you are right, the metal work isn't that much fun. One thing about it, all of the jacked-up metal work and covered up rust will be gone and I will know what is under the paint.

Keep up the good work on yours and I will keep following the progress.

I had a huge dent on the left front and I wanted to get it pulled prior to removing the fenders. I bought a new toy today (Stud Welder) and got busy. I love this thing. Now I have most of the dent out and the first bit of duraglass installed. I will finish massaging it after I take it off of the car.

The quarters have had the last filler sanded and ready for primer. The floors and back side of the car was by far the roughest. After floor pans, trunk pans, extensions, quarter patches and trunk gutter repair, I HOPE the rest of the body goes much faster.

I thought I knew how time consuming metal and body work was, but I really didn't!

Well it has been a while since I have been on here. I have made some progress and sent the Duster to the paint shop. He is going to use it for some fill-in work and I may not get it back for a couple of months. It's no big deal because I was able to go back to work. The only bad thing is that I will be out of town 90% of the time. I still hope to have it ready to drive by spring or summer. We will see how it goes.

Still no new pictures. I am still on the road most of the time. My dad said he stopped by to look at it a few days ago. He said it looked really good.

It is all smoothed and a final coat of primer is on. Cody said he was going to start cutting in this week and get the dash painted.

Looks like I will be picking it up when I get home next time on Oct. 15th. I can't wait to see it with a little color splashed on! I am sure my son will be going by to get a couple of pictures before then. If so, I will post them.

Just a quick note. My son went to look at the final paint. All of the wet sanding hasn't been completed yet, but I love it. Can't wait to get home and start putting it back together. More pics later.
