Easy way to get trunk open with back seat out- Duct tape a straight screwdriver to the end of a broom handle, the blade of the screwdriver has to be small or slender enough to fit in the slot beside the little peg thing that is in the hole. All you need is a flashlight and a steady hand. Sure a lot easier than the extensions and socket and nothing is damaged. Can't believe no one else has posted this.
What he said! No need to unbolt the latch. All you need to do is use a flat blade to release the latch. Insert it in the slot (arrow) and turn it 90°.
Don't need a HEMI, 440-6, or etc. Just stuff a Cummins in it, straight axel and call it an "oiler" LOL
Thank you wasn't sure of it would turn from inside with the lock tail in position. Will try that first..
The trunk key for my Duster had been misplaced for twenty years prior to shipping out to PA. Unfortunately the shipping company said their drivers needed access, so I had a locksmith come out to the house and in about ten minutes he had opened the trunk and handed me a new key. In other news, what a great find. When I was a teenager in the late seventies/early eighties the Challenger and the Cuda where the two cars I wanted most, but I never could afford either one. Now I'm quite a bit older and they've gone up in value so much that I still can't afford either one.
Thats it other areas are all good Floors solid, cowl solid, lower quarters original and rusty. Frame rails great.
Was wondering, with the console & slapper inside car, if a steering column might be in the trunk? Actually trunk looks decent at least not rotted though, from pictures anyway.
Complete jack, complete steering column with linkage, linkage for shifter. Lower rear channel from rear glass to trunk filler new. All in trunk
A “disagree” because your trunk was so packed with crap you couldn’t see the latch? Wow. Not my fault you’ve got a trunk full of junk. It’s not bad info, it works great as long as you have a flashlight and don’t have half a wrecking yard jammed in there.
