I finally picked up another Duster that will be primarily a race car! Restoration can have many meanings and though this car is a super clean 73 Duster that I bought from the original owner's widow, it will still undergo a Restoration of sorts. It is an awesome old school drag car but it is a bit rough around the edges. I will do a few things to make it mine for now, but eventually it will get a full paint and body treatment with the intent of making it look as similar as possible to my other Duster.
It has a W2 headed roller cam X Block stroker engine that i do not yet have all the specs on, but it supposedly dynoed at over 650 hp. Pictured is the spare engine that came with the car. It is a 360 block with X heads and a Super Victor intake. Thats all I know about it. It has a 727 and an 8-3/4 rear.
One of the first things I will do after I clean it up and get it running, is replace the rear end with a Dana 60.
Check out the first few pictures I took. I will document all my repairs and upgrades/downgrades along the way.

Cool car! The 73 is my favorite year for the Duster.

Looks like a grest start! Just miss my old 73.....

The feller passed 5 years ago, but his widow knew enough to care for it properly. The valves were slacked off while it sat, and it was properly lashed and started twice a year since it's been sitting. I feel honored to be it's next caretaker. Also fortunately for me, a friend of mine knew the late owner very well and can provide many details about the car.

Yea, that's a Hot combo. E5, White Buckets, Factory 340! Race your other car and make that one original again. Pretty valuable in all original form.

It is in such perfect shape, body wise, I am sure it will eventually get fully restored. I'll gather parts now, and probably do it as a retirement project. It came with most of the interior parts. Other than the rear wheel openings and the inner/outer wheel houses, the body us pretty much flawless!

Yea, Clay red with the white stripes V21 hood. It's rare too. That thing will look stunning!

And now it has driven around the block, successfully pissed off the neighbors. Ready to load up and take to the track next weekend.
