My Varment's first accident!

-
Man, that really stinks. Just had the "texting while driving" discussion with my daughter again today. Varment, what is under the hood of the Valiant?

318 bored 60 over.

I appreciate everyone's shared feeling of horribleness! Actually helps...

Good news though! After a couple hours beating on the trunk and quarter panel the trunk finally came open and I fixed the taillights so I can actually still drive her!

Woodward Dream Cruise here I come!!! Hopefully she will still gather attention as one of the lonely 4-doors out and about.

It's not the phone, it's the person. Maybe people should exercise a little more restraint and common sense.

Yeah right,....Leave the foggin things home so ya don't wreck my car and kill my wife.....common sense ain't common, and ya know we can't infringe on someone right to drive distracted, oh laws no.,..

I go to these crashes everyday,...Last one involved a pedestrian and a 30 year old self important construction worker blabbin while drivin his pick-up,....

I'm glad to see the car took the hit, and Varmint can talk about it,... At least the car can be fixed...

I hope you get a quarter mil out of her insurance company. Destruction of an extremely rare and now never again to be original sheetmetal car.

I almost cry every time I read that.

More good news! This wreck is actually spreading across social networks...Please share the images if you have a social networking site to get the message across. I've got 500+ shares on facebook right now...Maybe, just MAYBE the woman who hit me will see it!

IF worse comes to worse the 67 4dr I have has a good rolling structure with a title and you could just swap your stuff to this shell and save your self some work and you'd be on the road quicker.

I'd definitely like to check out photos of her! Would be a lot easier to throw a motor in instead of cutting up the body.

I had a very similar incident regarding damage to my 69 coronet. Got rear ended by a kid on the cruise strip. He had a 305 (if memory serves me correctly) z28 w nitrous and hit the button while driving behind me.

Point is, his insurance company came and looked at my car and I told them, this car was perfect, and you are going to make it perfect again. They offered me 1800 bucks, I was a kid and thought it was a lot of money so I said OK. Should have been 5K considering what it takes to make something like that right again.

Get your money's worth man!

Good news is: his car evaporated from the doors forward when he hit my Dodge :)

At least you're okay , shame about the car .Hope you get it on the road soon .
Really sick and tired of idiots with the cell phones driving , been close to getting hit a few times , see people mega drifting into other lanes on the highway while texting or dialing the phones , lots of close calls seen on the highway .

I dont give up on a car that easy Dart Doctor...Especially since it is my first car. I don't know how many stories I read about people regretting getting rid of, giving up on, or losing their first cars and I sure as hell know I will not be putting myself in that position. No matter the damage. So long as the car is not burnt to the ground she'll get fixed!

Go to the best body shop you know the highest, get a est. give it to her insurance co. And would not settle till they paid every cent with new parts that u can get

Michigan is a no fault state and the best you're gonna get is $500.00 in small claims court. Same thing happened to me 3 years ago, but not in my Barracuda.

And Michigan is wondering why people and companies are leaving and Detroit is trying to file bankruptcy. How does this whole " No Fault State" law work?

As per idiots on cell phones-talking or texting, salespeople with a laptop on their lap and another one on the seat doing business on the earphone at 75mph on the turnpike, girls putting on makeup or driving with the RIGHT leg up on the dashboard - I see it everyday from the seat of a Freightliner. I love it when the I-phone rings and they immediately slow down 10 mph and start to weave all over the road.
Go for all you can get - wish I had parts I could donate - all my parts are 66!
Best of Luck putting it back on the road.
