need serious advise

I just fired up my 318 for the 1st time since it was built, sounds good then all of the sudden it starts making a clanking noise, now im like WTF is going on so i pull the number 8 plug wire off and noise quite down alot so my ? is what's the noise i think its a rod any other ideas please let me no i don't really want to tear it down again

loose converter, or flywheel shield contacting converter.. Why did you pull #8, or did you pull them all, and #8 reacted?

had a suspicion, so listen to where noise was coming from upon further inspection, found that my header gasket blew out after really getting into it, dirty little dog, now i got to buy some good header gaskets, RIMFIRE i here makes the best any other suggestion on brand!!!!!!! it explains why the noise was different no fire in hole it was quieter, fire in hole it was louder, easy fix thank the lord!!!!!!!!
