The old M+H ?I run DOT tires like that and they aren’t a slick.

Lets agree to disagree.
My hoosier DOT drag radials are getting replaced this week.
They no longer Have the two grooves on them. They look and act like any slick i have ever had. Except they are radial construction, not bias ply.
They, and all the others, with just a couple of exceptions, are all race tires. No matter how they are marketed.
I wouldn't drive in the rain with my drag radials, even if new, for all the tea in China
I had driven my car to work a couple years ago and while at work it blew up a storm. The rain stopped about two hours before I left work for home but the roads were still wet when I left. There are only a couple traffic lights on the ride and I was slowing to stop as one was red. I was down to about 35 or so mph when the light went green. When I lightly picked up the throttle the car went stupid. It's a good thing there was no one in the lane next to me. The road I live on is mostly curves so for the seven miles I drive it I was on pins and needles. I coasted through the curves and very gingerly picked up the throttle when the road straightened out.
I don't want to repeat the drive.
John, one of the local bracket racers I know has them figured out pretty good. Saw him 4.80's in a door car Friday night. He told me it was the best tire he's ever used.

I also run Hoosier drag radials (my 2 grooves are gone now)...they hook just like a slick. The DOT thing is just so they can be used for races that require a DOT approved tire. Right after the DOT stamp is says "not for street use".
Do you know what tire he is running. My buddy put them on his Chevy and picked up at least .15 in the 1/8 mile and runs 9.20’s in the 1/4. I heard him spin at the line one night like he was in the water box. This was probably at least two years ago so I’m betting M/T has done their homework
Would love to, but can't. I have a Marine in the making, and IF we are allowed (currently not allowed, but hoping it changes), I'm saving my PTO to go to his boot camp graduation in November.hey...you coming to Bowling Green next week?
I've got four different methods to calculate 1/4 times from 1/8. The four vary from 10.22 to 10.33 from your 6.54. I'll be curious if they are accurate.Must have been good air everywhere this weekend. My Old Goat ran its best ETs to date at New Oxford Dragway on Friday night and Sunday afternoon. Ran a best of 6.54, in the third round of eliminations on Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately that was on a 6.58 dial so that was that! Still very happy with the results. Heading to Lebanon Valley for their Mopar day this weekend, anxious to see what the 1/4 times will be.
Me too. That's where the 10.22 came from.View attachment 1715592100 Just for a quick guestamite I keep this on my phone. Like my dear old Dad used to say, it’s close enough for the girl I date.
I'll post the results from LVD this weekend.I've got four different methods to calculate 1/4 times from 1/8. The four vary from 10.22 to 10.33 from your 6.54. I'll be curious if they are accurate.
No, LVD is not the nearest track. We have two 1/8 tracks in Maine, New Oxford Dragway and Winterport Dragway. Both are great grassroots facilities. The nearest 1/4 track is New England Dragway in Epping, NH. I went to LVD because it was their Mopar Weekend. NED isn't having a Mopar event this year.Les, you're in Maine, and your nearest track is Lebanon in new york? How far is your trip?
New Oxford Dragway is about 40 minutes from my house. Winterport Dragway is about a hour and a half tow. Same for NED. LVD is about a 5 hour tow.Les, you're in Maine, and your nearest track is Lebanon in new york? How far is your trip?
Best run from LVD this past weekend: 10.278 @ 129.85. New personal best!
