New truck prices

Vehicle prices are crazy, I stopped at local Dodge dealer just because a 1/2 ton truck caught my eye, just window shopping.
Salesman was right out the door, telling me about the truck.
I happened to be driving my 17 1 ton at the time, it has 16K miles on it, I bought it new.
The salesman offered me MSRP on what I paid for it, just buying my truck straight out, and commented "you can make money on that truck"
I just said, "but it will cost me more to replace it, so I will be loosing money in the long run, I am keeping it"

We're supposed to have freedom of speech, but I wonder sometimes. I thought that the general discussion section included politics too? If we can't discuss different topics amount us why have it? They can't use foul language as a excuse either as I've seen that quite often and the post was not deleted. As I said earlier as long as nobody is treated it shouldn't matter one way or the other. Unless it has to do with who's in the click and who isn't.

Mind you thats like 5 grand over MSRP plus what they will make on my old truck. MY truck is going right out onto their used car sales lot and they will make a few grand easy on it.
I wasn't doing this deal and I walked

When I traded my 2010 Colorado in on my 2019 they gave me 11,640 for it and I meant the guy that bought it and he paid 15k for it. At one point if the dealer couldn't make at least 4 grand they wouldn't mess with it. I've never paid sticker price for a vehicle. I walked away from a new challenger because they were asking 4 grand over sticker, I said who in their right mind would pay over sticker? The value isn't there I don't care what kind of vehicle that it is.

what engine do you have in the 2021? I traded my 2014 with 124,000 mi that I had bought with 19,000 mi and 7 mo old.I drove it for 7 years for $7500 and now have a 2022 almost like the 14 with a few upgrades like big camera with NAV. I wanted to get another 5.7 hemi before they quit making them and I didn't want E-Torgue that cuts off and on

my 2014 usually got 22 mpg and this 2022 gets a little less at 20-21 mpg

Why sell a one year old truck with 6k miles on it?

Yeah, you know what you got.

The next new one could be a lemon built with sub standard labor attitudes of now, and poor grade supply chain parts.

After the market reset, I will buy two more trucks at the cost of one today. lol

I don’t have to worry about a new truck or the”taxes” that I expect to skate on. At this time we have seven built and five sold. If I want to drive a different truck I just go to the board and get a different set of keys
