Next Phase of my Mopar Life

Racer Brown with W-2s ....I can smell power coming...good start

Brian, I love that you are doing a W2 build. Those are often forgotten with all of the newer head options out there. Interested to see the results for sure!

Start saving for tires.

I found a set of custom wheels for sale on Marketplace. They are 15x9 with 4" backspace. They came with a pair of worn out P275/60R15 drag radials on them, so of course I had to bolt them on to see how they looked. So far, I'm digging them.

I've got new tires coming for the front and am going to put them on these Ansen Sprints. They are 15X5.5 and have 3.5" backspace. I think this will make it appear as if the wheels are much skinnier than they really are. All part of the Day 2 look.

Not sure that the 318 would spin them. Besides, I’m still breaking in the clutch. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

back in my youth to smoke the tyres on a manual car i'd gently reverse, then while rolling back select 1st, floor the throttle, side step the clutch and put my clutch foot onto the brake to hold the car still. it becomes easy with practice, lol.
neil.

Happy New Year!!!

I talked to Brian and he is recommending an electric fuel pump to feed the new engine. I've done my research and have decided to go with an Aeromotive tank with the pump inside. They are a local KC company not far from where I work. This is the tank I bought. I was able to use a 10% off coupon from Summit and they also had a $50 manufacturers rebate so I had to pull the trigger before midnight yesterday.

Of course, I'll still need to buy the lines, fittings, filter and regulator, which is almost as much money as the tank itself. I plan on running Aeromotive products as much as I can. I've reached out to them to see what all they recommend.

It's going to be sunny today for the first time in what seems like weeks. Sounds like a good day to take the Duster out for a cruise!

My short block is together and the heads should be going on next week. Brian has promised pics of the port work on the intake and heads soon. He said the engine should be done and ready for the dyno by the end of the month. I need to get busy on the frame connectors and torque boxes that I purchased but haven't installed yet!

You will be very happy with that engine put together by Brian. He did the W2 heads on my turbo magnum and did a fantastic job.

Brian sent some pics of the heads and the work that he's done to them. The flow numbers that he gave me were 280@.500 and 299@.700. They aren't a max effort port job but are geared more towards street driving. He mentioned that the rockers may contact the valve covers that I'm using but thinks he can make some extra space using a thick gasket.

Oh yeah, my Aeromotive tank/pump assembly showed up last night. It had been on back order but finally shipped this week. It's made here in Kansas City but they wouldn't let me pick it up. Instead, they shipped it to Texas so that Summit could put it into another box and ship it back to KC.

That's just :realcrazy: on the shipping of the tank! As long as the round trip didn't cost you extra, I guess it's ok....lol. What are the casting numbers of your W2's? I lucked into 2 1/2 sets of W2's a while back and will use them on a motor if I can also luck into an LD340TA intake somewhere.

I can't find a pic showing the casting numbers and the heads are with Brian in Cali. He did send me a copy of my cam card from Jim at Racer Brown.
