This 71 Dodge dart is coming up in the future at an auction. It seems to be a insurance claim and has some rear damage. I am looking for an opinion or multiple opnions is this is a car that should be saved.
I can install a new quarter and other body panels. I just wanted a objective viewpoint. Looking at the dart is not possible since it hundreds of miles away. What do think the max price would be to pay including the auction fees.See if the rim is bent, if that's possible at the auction preview. That might tell if it was hit really, really hard. You'll need someone with a bit of experience to pull out the quarter well.
Looks like a rim blow steering wheel.
If you can get it CHEAP, it would probably be OK. It needs a lot of work. Look at the way the right door aligns with the quarter. Add to that the wrinkles and buckling I see, and it is obvious that there is some damage to fix. Notice I didn't say "fame damage". I didn't want to be reminded by a hundred people that unibodies don't have frames. Anyway, if you get it cheap enough, you can't go too wrong. You could always part it out if you got it home and changed your mind.
Even funnier when someone says they did a frame off restoration on a Mopar. ....I always find it hilarious that people say they don't have frames. It shows their total ignorance. Why then are they called frame rails? Sure they have frames. The frame just happens to be an integral part of the car. Sheer genius, IMO. Let the others live in ignorance as they "remind" you. LOL
