I need to know how to take the paint off on the windshield trim as the car has been painted before and not masked as well as it should have been. I would not like to scratch it so I figured I better ask.

If the trim is off the car (or you can remove it) you could possibly use a chemical stripper. I'm reasonably sure it won't affect the bright dip (annodizing) that's on it. But you should test it on a spot that isn't visible first. You risk scratching with any mechanical method used to remove it.

My trim is stainless ...I used lacquer thinner to clean mine...then used chrome polish w/buffing wheel on a bench grinder... made it look new again.
