The callenger painted is 340 auto. The man who's son bought the Demon that was killed bought this car after that accident. We put the trans in this car from the Demon and it locked up the same way. That is when we knew what happened to the Demon.

The other car was a 318 turned to a 340 six pack 4spd shaker car. I sold it to Berk motors and it was change to a 440 six pack . It is now in Windgap Pa.

Good lord, man! These are great! I think I've found my reference when I say "I know a guy who knows Mopars".

The real graveyard cars from back in the day. We didn't have computers or cell phones. Just the local papers, Hemmings and our sneakers. There was no one to ask anything. you had to do your own research or have several cars to use as a instruction source.

Sometimes the cool part is the journey,... not the destination!!!!!!
Yes it was a blast to work and drive all the cars I owned and worked on. The most fun car to drive? I have several that I would love to aim down the road again. There were those cars you would steer and those you would just aim and plant the throttle. I like the cars you aim. Steering them got boring. Having them wanting to come around at over 100 mph? That gets the heart rate going. Thats Fun! Ain't That right Dave.

The Duster was a car you aimed. My son must not have had the scope dialed in on its last target practice. Dave and I had no problem we had the Bullet turned sideways and still went straight.

Stick shift cars are easy to regain control. A automatic car with a high stall you lose throttle control. It is the feather affect when you slow the rear tires that can save a stick shift car. You lose that with automatic. When they start coming around on the big end with a auto car all you have is the shoot. Pull it on while on the throttle then let up when you feel it hit. A stick shift car you can make dance if you are good with your right foot .

These cars are the most fun . The best bang for the buck. 4 cylinder street bike motors. Is there anything better than traveling and racing what you build. Our first win was our first race in Brashier Texas. We were on the road for 5 days every two weeks at tracks out west. That trailer was our home away from home.

@Oldmanmopar These pics, and the stories are fantastic! Thank you for sharing this stuff!
I think you really need to consider finding a good author who can listen to all this stuff, and write a book out of it. More like a series of books, lol. And maybe some photo books with references the regular books. I know I'd lay my money down for that!

-- They put a lot of time into those quarters and they are straight. That thing looks like a car you would aim. LOL --
-- It had Nitrous, but I never raced it. I was afraid that I would break it. It had Ross pistons and was set-up quite loose. So loose that it clacked when it idled.

74 duster looks slick! Question rear still 8.25? Reason I ask what backspace on those meatier rear wheels? Cuz i have a 75 dart sport 360 and an 8.25 rear. Really want to fit 15x10's but unsure what backspace. I kind of think 4" may be the right backspace.
