Nice work, kinda brings back memories of doing mine.I like the front spoiler, what material do you use to make it?

20 guage sheet metal

Nice job on the spoiler, want to make another one? You might want to consider making it out of something other than sheet metal, something with a little "Give" like ABS plastic...

Let me get this one sorted out and if you still want one I would behappy to send you one on my dime.

Well with the shop as busy as ever and the heat wave here in the midwest I just havent been working on my project. But with a trip to Columbus good guys show and watch them rip it up on the autocross and a jab in the side from Tincup. I figured I had better get back on it. So today I got all the wheels and tires mounted and balanced.

And started working on the front spoiler again. I had a card board mock up of a front spoiler, And well it was OK. but not great. So one of our customers stoped in to see his project and he was driving a 2010 challenger. Kennith (Orange twist) I think had the same idea about the same instant. The front end looks alot like my 65 Dart front end.Hmmm. wonder if the front spoiler would fit? Sure looks like it. So Kennith and I took some measurements, A little wide, But still looks like it would work. So I bought a new SRT8 spoiler off ebay. Sure enough to wide. But with a little cutting it fits like it was made for it. Now mind you I have to bond it back together now. But it sure looks bad ***.

Well now that I'm back in the swing of things with this build I never really liked the hood emblem. So you know me. Out came the die grinder. After removing the center section of the hood I thought the peak needed to follow the new contour of the leading edge of the hood, So I repeaked the hood to match. The center picture is from inside the car. You can see friom this angle how the peak moves down toward the leading edge of the hood.

I'm building my 65 gt convertible right now and it's gotten carried away. It's got the alterktion front end, extensive body mods ( all very subtle ) started the mini tubs yesterday and it's going well! Lots of f-ing cutting to get those tubs split and out. I did the magnum force relocation kit which worked out ok. Designed for later model A body but still works good. She's going to be wwwwiiicked when done and I've done her all myself which makes it even more rewarding. Good luck on the build

Ive looked at your build tread. Looks good. Not sure how your doing your mini tubs, But in my thread I have a lot of detailed pictures of how I did mine.

Yea did mine almost the same as yours but my top mechanism was a real ***** and had all kinds of brackets welded to the wheel house. Good to see someone building up a 65. I later found out that my car is an original go/go packaged hipo 4 speed car after I welded up all the trim and emblem holes. Oh well I'm building it for me and not someone else. Of it was a hemi car or something of that sort I would have had more resources to track what I had. The shitty part of all this is that I can't use my brand new rebuilt 4 speed with hydraulic throw out conversion because I broke my back and I'm in a chair with spinal cord injury. Been thinking of a wicked 727 or if I can afford a 7 speed paddle shift would be bad ***. Only takes money! Just gotta find some.

Started making the front spoiler 1 piece again. Use 3m Plastic repair. The first step is using an adhesion promoter to clean and prep the back side of the repair. Next is a backing reenforcement. You get one shot at this, As soon as it comes in contact with the prepped area theres no getting it back off. Its stuck for good. Next will be the front side repair. Will start on that tomorrow.

Worked on bonding the 2 half's of the spoiler back together today. Using the 3M repair system. It worked really well and all thats left to do now is scuff the spoiler spray with adhesion promoter and paint with matte black trim paint.

That's crazy how well that spoiler fits, looks good though wonder if would work on my 65 Cuda? like the rim choice also car's gonna look bad *** when done. Can't wait keep the good work.

I would think it would fit just fine. Total cost. Spoiler 95.00 3m system to bond back together. 120.00 Total 215.00 I have enough of the 3M system to do several more. Not that I will need it But thats just the way its packaged.
