You USPS workers should be ashamed of this, if you have any pride in your work. 1st pic are of how the parts were delivered to my front porch. 4 of 6 parts missing. 2nd pic is of the tag put on by the LMF trying to cover up their screw up. package weighed 10-12 lbs. Took to postmaster and he said "parts too heavy for that box, need to pack in heavier box". I said 13 lbs tops. Next set of pics are how parts were delivered today. Did not even open them. Took them straight to postmaster. Guess what he said? "Need heavier box." I said, usps large flat rate box is rated for 70 lbs. He said box too heavy enough. thanks to all the postal workers THAT ACTUALLY DO THEIR JOB THE CORRECT WAY AND YOU USLESS BASTARDS THAT ARE RELATED TO THE UPS GORILLA'S CAN ROT IN HELL. Another postmaster said that these should have been held at p/o and I should have been notified to come and inspect them before delivery and also that there is not supposed to be any silver tape on the usps boxes. Oh well for those rules.

Well those should all have $100 insurance on each !

Rick ,I worked for UPS in Earth City ! I know how packages get treated ! Most the packages get busted up from the conveyor's and the semi's being over loaded.
I also know how to pack so they can take some off the abuse !

The post office is good on paying insurance. Theresa will file a claim for any package we ship and gets lost or smashed and haven't had 1 denied yet.
Not here they aren't. I've had several claims through the years and they always weasel out of them.

I never ship anything USPS and if I buy something I ask to make sure it isn't shipped USPS. I too have had all of USPS I care to deal with.

Now, I mainly use just UPS because I can buy labels through Pirate Ship at more reasonable rates.

If you are forced to use USPS you better add extra cardboard in the bottom and all around the side, because they flat don't care how they handle packages.

I don't think that both of the guys I bought parts from, shipped them in that condition. Both boxes had brakes backing plates and levers in them. 1st box had 2 and 2nd box had 4 plates and levers.

1. I don't know if you're the shipper or receiver, but what I can say is that whoever packaged that did a piss poor job.
2. USPS will pay insurance, but only to the shipper.

Might just be, here, that you are blaming the wrong end of the stick
Del's right, this isn't on the USPS, this is whoever shipped parts to you.
People need to pack their **** like somebody else's heavy *** **** is going to land on it. Because somebody else's heavy *** ****, will land on it.
Seriously, do people think that their packages are delicately handled and hand carried from point to point?

while i agree that USPS manhandles packages with all the grace of an 800lb gorilla with anger issues; that's a dog water packing job by whoever shipped that.

I learned from the shipping monkeys who send all manner of super expensive custom aerospace parts around the globe that if anything rattles when the box is moved, it's improperly packed. If it can't be stood on from any orientation, it's under packed. If the box is bulging or warped then it's improperly packed. A single layer of cardboard between a part and the rest of the world? Under packed.
Parts should be in a box and that box should go in the shipping box.
Air spaces cannot exist. They invite crushes. Inadequate support will let a box flex and it will wear or tear or get crushed before it gets far. Most people are cheap and use too small of a box. They also fail to realize that boxes will likely be stacked with other boxes of similar weight. Light ones get away with bubble wrap, but the heavier a part gets the more solid the packing needs to be. When in doubt, crate it.

I found my dads lost guitar online a couple years ago and bought it back after 35yrs missing...
They Shipped it USPS, Saddest GottDamned Thing I ever saw when it showed up all busted-up.
No Amount of Insurance Claim can replace a '71 Gibson SG that belonged to your Pop for 20yrs.
U.S.P.S was Awesome til this last round of Dems...

As said before: Good Luck With That!

Al it must be Theresa's winning ways, because I have NEVER had them pay on the insurance, ever.

What was in the box? Was it wrapped up in paper, bubble wrap, anything?
Yep looks like not wrapped correctly, i sent twin scoops, b body centre console and headers through UPS to Australia for my build i had inches of padding not just the box hard around the part. As collected the parts when i was over in the usa. They don't look to be properly packaged.

What was in there? I once shipped a Dana 60 carrier complete with ring and pinion in a well packaged box to a friend. When it showed up, the pinion gear was missing and what was left was wrapped with about a half roll of silver duct tape and roughly in the shape of a ball. Written across it in black Sharpie was “please contact us if you’d like to make a claim”. It took a while but I did get my $$ back
