More engine bay preservation and cleanup today, although very briefly thanks to some un anticipated rain that rolled in.soke grinding sanding and wire wheeling.

Well the decision has been made eon what I can afford as well as what's going ro help make the car faster as well. She will be getting a pretty stout 408" LS this time. The cost of a Dart block setup and availability of parts is just not where I'd like it to be.

Also going to be converting the 4 bolt master over to a 2 bolt from Mancini racing.

Got some grinding, sanding, priming and painting done. Got the heater delete from Mancini mounted and now I have a few more pieces to make and then install the new wiper motor when it comes in the mail.

Nice! That will make the engine bay and motor pop when you pull up the hood. Looks great AND goes fast...
:steering:

Got the front frame rails done and the recoat on the cage bars redone as well so that's cleaned up now too. Just have to do the sides of the inner fender area and the front cross section and it'll all be back to shiny red again. You can see how nasty it looked before compared to now. It's gonna make me send the exhaust pieces off for coating too I'm sure.

Fenderwell and front core support area is done. Therefore, engine bay is done with paint with the exception of the headlight area behind the grill. That will get done maybe tomorrow if the weather is decent. Oddly enough when I was sanding the sticker off on driver side I found this underneath.

Camshaft and turbo specs? Same turbos as the last engine?

Yeah I'm gonna keep the same turbos I have now. I felt like the 370 needed more cubes and compression to really utilize them. The 408 has both. If they grt maxed out then I'll upgrade further.

The cam specs are 231/243 .618"/.617" 115+5 LSA.

This car is a super nice build and your motivation is an inspiration to us all. Nice work.

Thank you both. I hope I xo tributes sowmthing to the motivation you already had for your builds. If I could be any further assistance please let me know.

Got my first mounting panel done today. It was for the holley exu snd the new 8 i/o box I'm adding in. It's in the passenger floorboard area. I still n qve to make th driver side one for the new fuse box and the teans brake and bump box accessories.

Got a little more done today not much given the amount of time I had. But got the velocity stacks in the grill for both turbos. Beadlock rings also finally shipped out from rc components.

Still haven't heard from Mancini racing on my master cylinder conversion and distribution block, or from Flaming River on my steering column.

You'll most likely have to call Mancini. I ordered a set of TTI headers from them back in early February. Finally called them last week to get a status. The guy I spoke with was no where near a ball of fire and said I might have them mid-April.

I know I could find out earlier in this thread, but who's front suspension kit did you use?

I called them today and they said they were waiting on the distribution block from inline tube. But did say it ought to be out by the end of the week.

I used Tory Shellhammer STR front k member and it comes with his lower control arms as well.

Also I got a better picture outside with a little more light on the front end.

I thought that was one of Tory's kits. I've ordered a complete front kit from him, hope to have it in a couple of weeks.

Got the driver side panel mounted and the 3rd different heater installed in the garage. After this they are gonna have to refund me. Gonnabe starting to run wires for what I can which isn't much without the column, engine, fuel pump and other stuff

I know a "little" about the LS stuff. What's the significance of the LQ9 engine? I've not heard of that one.

It's one of the preferred stock blocks to use for bigger boost levels. It starts as a 6.0L Iron block found in the nicer gen iii trucks.
