Recently there seems to be a lot of questions regarding retrofit EFI conversions. I would like to suggest a dedicated forum for it.

Carburetors have been around for over 100 years but EFI is still a relatively new technology and the learning curve can be steep. Mopars in particular have some specific quirks that make EFI a little less straightforward than other makes. And beyond buying and installing the basic systems, conversions can snowball pretty quickly involving things beyond just the fuel delivery aspect that may not be obvious at first glance. There's also a lot of myths, misinformation and confusion about what it is, what it does and whether it's a good thing or not.

We have forums for things like 3D printing and model building but an EFI forum might prove beneficial for a larger portion of our members since these systems are generally considered with real-world performance and drivability concerns in mind. They're also expensive and time consuming to deal with and having a dedicated forum would make it easier to find specific information rather than searching through other forums.

EFI is also not for everyone so it may dissuade someone from making the wrong choice. Again, there seems to be a lot of mistrust of software driven tuning devices so it may help some people understand what they need to consider before making the switch or not.

I will offer to write up a detailed primer on it to get the ball rolling. I've installed a few Holley EFI systems successfully and I know my way around them pretty well.

Discuss.

So what are we thinking here admins?

The 3D forum has been up since July and so far there's only 28 original threads and 374 total messages. I'd bet an EFI forum would easily eclipse that. One thread I've been involved with the last two days is now 4 pages and has 1K views by itself.

It'll be a good thing!

We have a forced induction forum so why not? We even have a 66 Dart forum so why not a 64 Valiant forum? I feel discriminated against.

If someone were to search just thread titles containing "EFI" they'd get 17 pages of results.

When I go on the Holley EFI forums and ask about how this or that is supposed to work with Chrysler products it's like you're speaking Greek. A Mopar-specific EFI knowledge base would be an invaluable resource since there really isn't anything like that anywhere.

I don't disagree.

Thread. The 66 Dart thread is within the Early A Body forum.
Or a 62 Valiant forum?
We're called names and it hurts my feelings.
