Restoration hoses

-
I had ordered a few of the 68-69 non ac upper hoses 60666. These were the ones that are not correct for the 67-69 with the straight water neck. The way the hose is formed, it might fit the 45° water neck. I will check this weekend and if they fit, I will have them for sale.

It's not just the thermostat cover angle. The 20416 Gates has that angle correct. It's the slight S curve to the radiator neck that's the problem. The 20416 has just one bend. The hose needs three to be correct.

Here is a recent picture of the engine compartment of my FS. Note the top radiator hose is a Gates 20386, as is the bottom hose. In my opinion, it fits very well and looks original. Period photos below for comparison.

Did you try the 20386 on the top? It looks perfect, just like the pictures in the road test articles. Its not an AC hose in this application, I can't speak to other uses. I'm fussy too, I want an original look, the 20416 looked terrible, very non-original. I'll post a picture when I get it back together again.
Yes, that's the answer! I went ahead and got another Gates 20386 lower hose to use for a top hose. You cut off 2 1/2 inches off the thermostat cover end and it fits great! it's all stamped and ready to install now. I'll post a photo when it is. Thanks! :thankyou:
