Ok, this ain't a Bike Site, but, due to the Vast Knowledge of Y'all whoop *** Wrenches here, I'm gonna do it anyhow, as it's a damn internal combustion engine. Last year, I had new Valve guides put in my 77 XLCR, it's runs low 11 sec 1/4s ( take that, livewire Electric junk) decided to rering here, as the bore were a Lil funky. Got a 240 ball hone, and ordered new rings from Hastings. They sent me some **** that would have killed my engine. I mean ring gap WAY TO CLOSE, called them. Very rude assholes, said I don't know what im talking about, and They DO NOT make mistakes. No warranty, return to seller. Got em from J@P Cycles. To long to return. Hastings said those rings ( Moly) CANNOT be file fitted. Called Total Seal, Great Guys. After telling my story, the tech said they are just salesman at Hastings, and I can file em. He didn't wanna take my $... so the question is, can I file en down and send it? Or get w/ Total Seal and just get new? Thoughts and opinions? It's a 2 year only, rare bike, kinda wanna move it, as I wanna sell my place here and go away from the city even more... all thoughts and opinions are welcome, Thanks Everyone!
