Has anyone mad there own engine mounts to put a bb in a sb k frame ? Yea i know schumacher has them but if i can make them y not.

I used a QA1 Small block K member, cut off the one side mount and used a motor plate. But I was wondering the same, as they don’t sell a big block one, I don’t know what would be in the way

agreed, yes. bolt the trans' to it's crossmember and that will determine front to back placement, then as above notch the mount driver's side for oil pump clearance. i usually then sit the motor on a block of wood between oil pan and k member. you can then safely work around both sides to make mounts. get it all tacked together then lift the motor enough to remove them for fully welding and painting.
neil.

Yes, but I thought Jim had measurements and dealt with biscuit k members too but I might be wrong. That's why I was hoping he would chime in.

No, the only K-member I make and have measurements for is the Direct Connection which was a modified '73-76 V8 K-member. BUT, with that said engine mounting starts at the transmission mount. The height of the crank centerline above the K-member is on www.bigblockdart.com (or was at one time). Just mount and engine and trans at the trans mount and get the crank straight at the right height and make your mounts work.

You got a biscuit mount frame or a spool mount frame?

Take a look a my post here:

I put spool mounts on a biscuit k frame. I have NOS engine mounts. If ya started from scratch you may have more options. While OEM biscuit and spool mounts work fine they are bulky.

It is fairly easy to put elephant ears on a B/RB, and if I ever live that long, that is what I plan to do, instead of side mounts. this is because, of course, the way the water pump housing mounts. Then use generic donut mounts down on the stub frames.

Or, you could just get yerself one that is already set-up/aligned for a big block from the factory...

Ijust ordered a pair from 440 source. They were half the price of anyone else

I was going to do a DC copy using the 73 K except moving the whole perch not just the top. Went to check fitment under car and the 73 K did not bolt up. K was damaged. 4th bolt no go.
So I put the complete perches on the older K. When doing this you loose reference versus cutting the top half like the DC k kerndog posted. I made a jig.
I also checked and measured several times before welding to TTIs specifications.
