Always been a fan of your 69! How’s that hyperpack running? I just bought a hyperpack manifold, now I just need a slant to put it on.

It's nice to see the Volare'. I got to tell everybody the injection manifold came from me !
It was set up from Fastman Fuel Injection that was a Mopar Muscle Magazine slant article.
I'm diggin' the 64.Great job !

I figure if it don't go, chrome it!

It's nowhere near as fast as some of the combos above, but it is faster than it was stock. 63 Valiant convertible, 65 slant six block (original was cracked) bored .030, 63 head stock except milled .100 and 340 springs, Comp 252 cam, 210 duration at .050, .430 lift, Offy four barrel intake, factory 62 318 poly four barrel carb, electronic ignition, 2.25 inch Accurate exhaust, original Torqueflite with stock converter, 2.94 rear gears. Will cruise all day at 80 mph, quarter mile low 17s at a bit over 80.

Note: have changed battery, ignition box and voltage regulator since these pix were taken.

That reminds me of something @Johnny Dart would do. His stuff is beautiful.

I like it for what it is.
Not the best for top end performance or driveability, especially in cold weather, but It does well pulling a big, heavy '69 Dart around the corners and up hills. I no longer race this car But I have autoX'ed it once or twice... It's nto ideal for that. I probably could do some more work on getting the cam more properly matched to the intake.. but for now It's okay.
Here is a trip I took in October 2022 with the '69 Dart to Maryland with very little interstate driving:

Yes Thanks Romeo!
This is sure a rusty car, but It gets great Highway Mileage with your old intake and the Megasquirt running the Fuel and Timing maps, the 833 Overdrive helps too!
I plan on taking it on a Cross the mountains trip in April, from PA to North Carolinia by way of Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia. It was my daily driver from 1996-2017 in the Salt and everything. Like me it's not pretty but it's functional and gets the job done. 236,000 Miles and still going. Most F bodies with that mileage are parts cars. I drove it to work today.

Love your work !!
Thanks Romeo,
When you were doing those High zoot builds ~25 years ago did you ever deal with top end performace in chatsworth, CA? I seem to remeber the GTX having ITB's

Truth be told I'm not sure who did the set up. I will tell you it never worked well.
Looked good but that was about it.

Shouldn't be hard to find a slant. Everyone on FB thinks core engines are worth 500-1000 Dollars.
But there are 50-100 ones around too.
If you show up with a truck and cherry picker it's likely that someone will give it to you to free up garage space.

You are likley to pay more if it's attached to a car.

If you were closer I would give you a Slant and a 904.Have 2 only need 1..
You’re a true gentleman! I need a car to go with the slant anyway. I’d love a 63 Valiant, bare bones. 4 speed, hyperpack 170 with a head and cam built to rev to 7.5k. You know, just a little commuter car.

Yea Midnight, if you don't use that Hyperpack I could use it for my slant!

hyperpack 170

built to rev to 7.5k.
Not saying that you can't,BUT, I visited Jack Clifford in the 90's at his shop.I was in the mind set same as you. While he was showing me around his warehouse he explained "Build for torque,Not RPM". He went on with explaining why,the head, intake etc was not designed for high RPM and why the long ram was designed for road racing.Pulling hard (Torque) coming out of turns is why the HyperPack Valiants ruled the tracks of the day."The engineers knew what they wanted, they proved it with the long ram 413 300's of the day and applied that to the HyperPack.
Thus for drag racing the short ram did better on the strip."(1961 RamChargers)
He continued "So I made them both". He was really a neat guy.I enjoyed my day with him.He really was into the Hudson Hornet and it's days racing. The company sure changed after his passing.
Just my 2 cents.

Good story Darter- How do you think that Hyperpack would perform on a mostly stock slant with headers?
