Stock or not! Im trying to decide which color to paint the 225 in my 69 Valiant. I heard somewhere that 69 was the only year they painted them turquoise, 68 and older were red and 70 up they were Chrysler blue.

Looks like I am first Rockerdude, There is a bunch of greater looking engine
bays here I have on my computer but I will let them show there great jobs they have dun :glasses7: And I mean Great looking /6 engines mine is not where I would like it to be at this point, just posting my color for you :D

The last picture I took a few days ago after I put my new recurved distributor in, one day it will be half as nice as our other members here :D

Red, yellow, or blue. I would never paint it orange there are too many orange engines out there. You show someone a red or yellow engine and it gets their attention especially if you do a good job on the prep and paint.

Looking good so far! Anyone paint their engines turquoise?

Where is Johnny Dart?? He has a 65 Dart convertable with a beautiful slant six in it, one of the nicest I have seen :glasses7:

Just went to my local auto parts store to look at the engine paint colors they carried in stock. I think (according to the cap on the can) pontiac blue will be the closest to Mopar turquoise from off the shelf. And its almost 5 dollars cheaper a can.

Beautiful engines.I am thinking a dark blue will look good on mine. I have a theme going so far. White body with black hub caps, cowl, wipers and grille. Soon black bumper. But I have this nice blue accent theme going on with my lights on my stereo and wire looms. I painted the whole of my dash black with white gauge cover so white engine bay with blue block and black where it belongs.

Sweet pictures so far! Heres the slant in my wagon. Soon when the slant in my 69 is finished, I will post a picture of it too.

I'll admit I'm kind of a purist, and generally like to go with the correct engine color for the car. I like the Chrysler blue and red.My motor use to be Chrysler blue. I always had a vision of going orange with this car.So when I rebuilt the motor I went with Mopar Performance Street Hemi orange. Same color for the orange 340's.
It's just going to come down to personnel preference.

Yellow air cleaner was temporary and is gone now. Surprised I don't have any pics of it since the super six swap. I used Pontiac Blue rattle can.
