And again you don’t know what you are talking about.
Mark wrecked his Valiant racing on a soft tire, he had spoke of bring it back but health issues
had slowed him physically, here is to hoping he gets well and back on track.
You also don’t grasp that not everyone wants to build their motors with parts out of a catalog. If that is your thing, once again, it’s your car.

just trying to get the best out of exiting /6. without catalog.
      innovation got to love it.
/6 was Never designed to have bookoo HP.
just trying to make the wheel rounder. Nothing wrong with that!

          Butthurt slantys.

Truth always brings out the worst in you folks. You think your 6 cyl will beat anything... and then when reality chimes in... its "oh better buy 2000 hp crate motor"...meanwhile your micro motor wont make 350hp on its own... you are so out there.lol
I paid respect to it... what do I have to do, become delusional like the rest of you and live in fantasy land.
Slants are great, just not as great as you overly sensitive types think.

It started when facts were posted , by me, and the usual someone got uppity and said something like "slant drag cars will blow your crap off the road"...and then it was 'small man complex' exhibition after that.
          Unique bunch of people.
My fav was "drag cars that will blow your crap off the road"... think about that statement for a second.. lop sided, how about I bring my drag car.

Hey, I don't bad mouth other engines and I get tired hearing people bad mouth slants. I run a slant, because it is affordable (low dollar) for me. Never said it was the quickest thing out there. I have run Fords (national record holder) in stock eliminator, Chevy (again stock record holder) and Valiant (stock record holder). Flat head Fords, 300 inline six gasser, 289, 352, stockers.
Small block chevy 283 to 400 cid, and 348/409's. Mopars, from 170/225 slants, 273/318/340/360 La motors, 361/383/440.
Cars from stockers , Gassers, modified production, Factory experimental, front motor dragster.
I have driven drag, asphalt and dirt circle, and road course, over about 60 years.
I'm a "motor head", and just like cars.

Sorry, lets get this thread back on the tracks.

Must be an echo in here.. cause that's what I said. I even offered ideas to help the /crowd.
Thanks for confirming the already obvious, your soft spot & dedication to the /.

Btw, I respect your efforts Charlie. People learn a lot from you on here.

Exactly, it's like this discussion always boils down to. The slant six is about being different and I love different.

Different is nothing here nor there, it's what it is. I like what I like, doesnt make it king.
In the literal since ..imagine that...the different representing the same ol....that's like having a cheeto represent a potato chip.

for someone that does not have any skin in the game, MOPAROFFICAL seems to have a lot of opinions about slants,
from they all blow up to calling them nerd motors to...
and here is a direct quote 'You can get them to run quick, for what they are... but they'll always be what they are AND were designed as...economy car motors. Turbo them, they'll eat rod bearings sooner than later, nitrous...bent rods....high rpm oil pump gear goes out.... nylon distributor drive gear.
Love'em... but they stay behind to keep the fire going while the big boys go hunting for blue ovals and bowties.

I don't bash V8's on the other forums and if I can add something to help resolve a problem I do that. How about the Capitol Lettered MOPAROFFICIAL doing the same.

After all it is your car build what you want and FABO is at its best when folks jump in to help, not jump in to criticize.

My skin in the game is I own a aluminum 225, have a full length header still, have stainless 1.7/1.44 valves, have an aluminum 1 brl, 2 brl, 350 holley, 500 eddy, have ported about 5 or 6 slant heads, flow tested said heads and drove daily a built up 225 in a dart for almost 7 yrs. It was bullet proof, because it never went over 5500 rpm and I cross drilled the crank for full time oiling. It was stock and polished when I built it...looked the same 5 yrs later when I checked the rod bearings during an oil pan gasket change...leaked from the sanwiched windage tray I fabd myself at 18 yrs old.
                  Thanks again.

I sold my aluminum 1 bbls, 2 bbls and carbs long ago, MPFI works for me, there are better valve choices for slants than the 3/8 stem 1.7 / 1.44 valves, I saw your slant porting post where you said, you just trim the floor,,, and I will just leave that alone,, cross drilling cranks, have not heard of anyone doing that for a long time,
the slant that I run I consistently take to 6200 RPM, not cross drilled, standard half groove bearings, and the windage tray that I fabbed has not caused any issues.
I ported the oil pump and I take the time to properly align the oil pump and cam gear, so no issues there either.

So here is your chance to get this thread back on track.
There is no doubt that you are the all awe inspiring person to your self that you think you are. There is no need to convince anyone to think anything contrary.

                      :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:,.....sigh..................
Here's the deal, REAL world knows the old argument, no replacement for displacement.
No matter which power adders One uses, it can be applied to the larger engine, no matter which chamber/valve design in the head(s) ditto.
Then there is the only 6 rod bearings to handle the load vs 8, even at the same power level. This isn't, & shouldn't be what it has turned into again, a pissing match over v8-/6 and opinions.
                      The real-deal for a Slanty head is going to be;
                      1) able to support a NA 400hp
                      2) allow someone to simply put it in place of the stock head with minimal changes
                      3) allow for some crazy, all-out mods.
These are basic must-haves for there to be any market at all for the head. The reality is Slanty drivers are tired of having Elantra's, Civics, & Corolla's leaving them in the dust w/o even puffing hard when it's over. They want a bolt-on that at least brings the classic mill closer to modern expectations of output/disp.

MOPAROFFICIAL posted this,,, Btw, I respect your efforts Charlie. People learn a lot from you on here.

I am doing a slant head for Charlie, he will get delivery of it in early 2020. Charlie and I met through the Slant Six race series.
I consider Charlie one of my many Slant Six racing friends, while on the road Charlie and I have shared rooms, meals and time slips.
Speaking of the porting, I have a thread at .org, shows plastic models of the ports, information on where to work as well as actual port flow data.
The port shape that I am using is modeled after what Mike Jeffery developed. Mike J is a slant six racer of some renown. Mike has shared with me his
porting techniques and I have been able to duplicate what he has achieved. My MPFI Slant car has had some success. Ran in the finials twice in 2018,
I took the car down in the fall of 2018 for a complete chassis and engine rebuild, a year later it is about done, will race again in 2020. For threads and posts and photos,
look over at .org, DadTruck is the name over there. Just so you know, I am an Mechanical Engineer, most of my 40+ career was around engines generally and cylinder heads, fuel systems and power cylinder components specifically. From developing foundry tooling, through to machining and assembly and test, I have done that with I6 and V8 heads, not as a hobby, I did it for a living.

I am looking forward to seeing the MOPAROFFICIAL at a Slant Six race in 2020!

Well that's all you had to say.

Yes I know who Jefferies is...and you blow those guys up to be some great legends? Really ? Even Mike doesn't claim all that. ..and you drop his name? bring his name into the argument?? Whos argument is this? His or yours? You overgrown child.
You said numerous stupid things in your replies...all of which were shouted from a mountain top of ego..you don't think I have the right to an opinion whether based on actual experience...you're a commie, wanna shut it down cause it doesnt fit your delusion. Tuff shit. I can tell you that I'm a machinist, built engines since my teens and worked as mechanic before, actually own a flow bench and dont guess based on what some knuckle head told me....you'll keep flapping your asslips about old fat ass so n so and slant 6 glory.
                          It's to this point

For the Love of God stop the pissing and moaning. Add something useful to the thread or don’t say anything at all. I try to pick up useful tips from all around but I can’t stand this BS. Be constructive and useful to the thread.

Another otherwise useful thread trashed out of pure hate. That's it. I'm done.
