SoCal Car ****

These pics are awesome!
I don't care about the brand x stuff, i like them all and are glad they are on the road still.
I am an old car enthusiast, glad to see them all, it's better than the plastic fantastic stuff you see on the roads most of the time now.
Thanks all for posting!

autoxcuda, looks like all the Mopars are up in your neck of the woods. There's virtually nothing down here on SD roads.

I drive around A LOT. Like 30K miles a year.

But those pictures were just taken on weekdays 9-5. More cars out on weekends. It's tough to catch them in the right place to take pictures.

I might see one 1976 or older Mopar every 2-3 days. I'm on the road 8-6 though. A 73-76 A-body more often. It really depends on the neighborhood I'm in.

Hollywood, Los Feliz, older beach communities, driving up coast to Santa Barbera, and rougher neighborhoods is where I see them most. Don't see many older cars out in fresh newer suburbs.

Various drives on the way to Santa Barbera...

** That BMW Alpina was really cool. Not just you regular old BMW 2002 you see putting around.

The odd and wierd stuff...

The Facel Vega has a 361 Chrysler motor in it. Seldom talked about Le Mans GT (Supercoupe? or something like that). Strange retro Sprinter conversion. Pontiac woodie wagon!

Any of these FABO members cars form So Cal? Or recoggnize them?

The copper 67 Cuda is Alan Erland's.

I know exactly what u mean about there being almost no Mopars in SD. Even at the lowkey carshows a Dart is a rare commodity. But there are a ton of 56 Chevys and 69 Camaros at the shows. Goes to show that the Mopar breed is the smallest.

More weird and odd so Cal car **** out in the wild…

When was the last time you saw a Mercury Marauder X100 and Citroen SM with Maserati motor parked at the curbside meter? Or a Pontiac Can Am at the gas station?

68 Charger with a sort of barely Builit-like photo chase.

It is a nice car, but where is the two cuties?

Nothing beats an old car driven by cuties.

Thanks for all the pictures though autocuda, and dusteriffic

Well if you're not looking only for Mopars, I'll see if I can get some pics of my neighbor's cars. One has an original Model A he runs around in on weekends and a '57 T-bird. Another neighbor has a '65 Chevelle SS and a '86 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe. He's the original owner on both - ordered both of them from the dealer - and can put the Chevelle back to showroom stock except for 1 bulb in the dash and a fan belt. He's fanatical about care and both are beautiful cars with original paint and interior. Hard to call either of them "survivors" since they're so nice.

Saw another one on the way to Home Depot today...a Fuel Injected '61 Corvette. Pretty sweet piece of 50-year-old plastic. Sounded mean too. His plate said "61FUELY"

Boy, my last five sightings have all been Chebalays. SD needs more Mopars representin'.
