I used to have good results with Autolites, but the last few years, I have had an issue with the porcelin blowing out of the shell on a few. This seems to be a problem with the plugs that have "made in China" on the box. Customer service acknoledged(sp) the problem. Might be corrected by now. No problem with the plugs made in other countries.
I threw my boxes out, but I think my Autolites said made in Mexico. Who knows, they could have been made in China anyway.I used to have good results with Autolites, but the last few years, I have had an issue with the porcelin blowing out of the shell on a few. Sorry, it's currently a 225 with a 1bbl Holley (soon to be 2bbl Carter) and a 904 followed by a 7.25 with 3:55's.It would be helpful if you told everyone about your engine and driveline
So far as I can tell, no numbers, it appears to be a late 60's to early 70's block, previous owner had a rebuilt put in.I like NGK. The particular plug depends on year of cyl head, and whether the engine is stock or modified, and usage.
YESDoes the head have the spark plug tubes?
Then you'll want to remove the washers before you install the plugs.
It's a stock engine, late 60'7 early 70's. She's my cruiser and is driven locally and on highways on a weekly basis.I like NGK. The particular plug depends on year of cyl head, and whether the engine is stock or modified, and usage.
I run them in both of mine and have for decades without one issue. Are the Champion plugs any good these days?
Awesome. Do you know which plugs exactly? I'm running the same setup: '74 225 with the plug tubes.I run them in both of mine and have for decades without one issue.
