Stop in for a cup of coffee

Not a good start to the day, memike
Waking up sore is no fun. All day on my feet yesterday, outside for a few minutes and the soles of my boots turn hard like steel.
Wondering why my feet hurt.
Well, off to reality i guess.
See you all at 10:00

It's been so cold and snowy I think I only got 50 miles on a half tank of gas in the pick up. Lots of warm ups and 4 wheel drive trips.
Days like today my truck wont move with the plow hanging on the front, need 4wd so it will climb off the flat spots on the tires. And it hops for a few hundred feet.

We make them now. We were teamed with GM, Ford and Chrysler over the years. 80 years this year. We cast our own blocks, heads, etc. Inboard and outboard.
You have access to any Prestolite distributor info? Need internal part numbers.

Remember the old bias ply tires? LOL

Thanks. Hard to find that stuff. Been buying books taking a chance. Some info but not to detailed.

Good morning. Still snuggled under the covers with my coffee. But time to get this day started. I take goodbyes too hard.

Shoot me a pm if they have it. I am out have to get to the post office before this stuff gets deep. 3-6" called for up here.

After much thought and research I’m thinking it’s in my best interest to pull the intake on the Duster and take a look at the cam and lifters. At this point it’s just some gaskets for peace of mind. If all looks good i’ll scrounge up the cash for a set of roller rockers, probably these. Miva Merchant: Fatal Error
JEGS has them for $660.
If there is any question of the integrity of the cam and lifters I’ll pull the engine do a tear down, inspect and hopefully just clean up then bite the bullet and do a full roller set up.

And that's what I call checking and taking care of the baby!!

I do like the looks of those rockers. Too bad they are so spendy.

The lifter is worth looking at. I assume you remeasured all the rod lengths and read those threads about geometry.
How much lift in the cam?

I haven’t done any measuring yet. I bought the engine as a complete long block from an engine builder out here. You can bet i’ll be reading/researching, measuring and re-measuring once I have the rockers in hand. Im a hands on learner. I can read and read but until I can see it, a lot of times it’s just words.
It’s a Comp Cams XE275-HL .525 lift

That might be the cam my buddy put in his 440. With some ported heads, headers, a Ch4B and a 750, 485 horse and 500 lb/ft.
