On the monte I could not find r14 so I just filled it with 134a and it was fine
Well finally put the drill bit sharpener on the Sharp All, should have done it years ago and saved a ton on drill bits.
Man of many words  Far outMorning
The only difference really is the compressor pressures, 14 is super hard to get, I have a hvac license for ac and Cannot even buy it, r22 you can get with a esco license and 134a any one can get, I just put the fill nipple on for 134 and it was working good, not super cold but around 43 or so.
And lovi'n it! Pulled Cam yesterday, mic'ed lobes. all were the same, no noticeable difference. HMM.. Checked valves, the one was lower quite a bit. WTH! Well heads going off, going back to the shop that just did head work. Frustrating, 2 steps forward one back. :coffee2:By quite a bit I mean my thickest gauge still had tons of room, probably had a 32nd of an inch. I might have caught a valve seat before it fell in to engine, looks to have moved. What else could it be?hi California Tim
I am sure you can buy Freon right? Sometimes I see it a garage sales and buy it up, found a 30lb bottle half full for 20 a few years ago and then sold it for 200! We used to use the hell out of r22 on the ec-130's to keep the back end cold for the electronics, it took 45 lbs to fill it!
