Rin Tin Can

Guy gets a text from his best friend says "Man I just can't keep this from you any longer, I feel so guilty: For the past year or more I been tappin' your wife. At first I just figured it'd be just a one-time thing but I couldn't get enough of it so pretty soon it was an everyday, sometimes all-day thing. I hope you can forgive me and I promise it will never happen again." So the guy goes in the house, shoots his wife, and he's just goin' out to the car to go shoot the other guy when his phone blings with another text from the same guy, says "Oops: Typo: WiFi not wife."

:wtf: is that "shakin head" button?

Well off to the Condo, almost finished. I AM finished, but alas, the condo is not.

Not what you guys are talking about but, it's amazing the amount of restoration work that gets done here on FABO by people that don't have a clue. Gotta start somewhere I guess. LOL

You saying I don't have a clue?

No the folks here in the coffee shop are quite knowledgeable. There are greenhorns out there asking questions about things they shouldn't mess with. They need to learn some basic theories how things work or how they are put together.

Every single service manual starts off with basic principles,or,they used to.bolt identification and torque specs is something i recall. You could learn to be a mechanic by reading the service manual cover to cover. Not just pick the page you want the info from right now.
In today’s world of instant information its easier to ask than to think.
Youtube videos are a perfect example. Not many can be bothered to watch a 37 minute video when they can get what they need in 3 minutes or less.
I’m guilty of it.

Written publications tend to be more informative then some videos though.

I dunno. The younger ones and even some older folks go to the video channels first.

Well that's easy. The published books are usually written by technical writers with the help of, and review by, the engineers and techs. Talking about the good ones. But even many of the 2nd tier stuff for hot rodders and racers at least written or helped along by people with some experience and knowledge.

When I wanted to learn more about working on cars my buddy had me buy McGraw Hill's Automotive Technician book. Yup - had all the basics. Still have it, along with a bunch of FSMs - which are for the most part, great. AMC's 1984-87 SJ/J is the exception.

When i learned to read, a couple years ago. i read dad’s 50 some odd practical handyman’s encyclopedias. Popular mechanics project books too. So i started reading manuals of various kinds since i was 5 years old. I still have them.

Useless question of the day!

Can you make a tomato light a light bulb?

yes, by sticking two dissimilar metals in the tomato (which is acidic) , you can create an electric current which may light a small light bulb

I have been reading a thread here about a newbie asking how to replace a trunk floor. Thought the floor was glued in place.
Do we want to know how you found that out?
Hey Ramie, didn't use your windshield gasket?
