We are getting some monsoon rains here. I have never seen such rain the whole time I have lived here. They said on the news, this is the first time this area is not on drought alert in 20 years.

Looks like one just went past north of us. Got dark, some thunderboomers and a little rain. But I think just above us it was a wave of water. Still chance of another one between now and 9pm
 
Dirty guys @ NWS. Their weather radar can't be pasted. Good day not to be taking your costly hot rod back to the San Joaquin Valley. Big time t-storm/hail/flash flood warning between here and there. Glad I went drag racing yesterday, that's my route. The Pismo Car Show was yesterday and to get back to the valley depending on your destination that is 1 of only 2 ways. Golf ball sized hail falling on your '34 coupe (just an example) :eek:
 
On the way home yesterday there was a late model rag top Camaro drafting me. As soon as we crested the pass between here and there I could see the little pockets of heavy rain all over the up coming valley. This wheel sucker has his top down. Half way across the valley there's a little community plenty of places to pull over and put the top up, nope, he was more concerned about losing the draft :rolleyes:. 15 miles later some misty kind of drops and no safe places to pull off. 5 miles after that drops so big they made noise over the blasting Classic Rock on the stereo :lol:. Where did that Camaro go? :rofl:There he is. Barely off the highway on a questionable shoulder of the road.

But with so many having vendor spots it's not usually more than a handful together at one time. I don't know if we will have FABO tent. That could certainly help the cause.

Each and every one is FABO, we started by advertising a meet and greet at such and such day and time, the FABO banner really helped. That in conjunction with the obvious fact that our folks were having an absolute blast. Folks just migrated our way. The show was at a new venue so we were all a bit disoriented. The host club Midwest Mopars will refine it for next year. They did a nice job in a totally new venue. The picture was difficult to take you are correct, Zman was sequestered clear over in the winners barn with the rest of the royalty from last year, and folks were scattered. Once TMM opened his trunk and started pouring Legendary Shandy tho it was less like herding cats and more like putting down a saucer of milk in front of a bunch of kittens. He gave his camera to my wife, the short one! Then he gave us Shandy or corn flakes next thing ya knew we were all famous!

Corn Flakes comes in mason jars. I believe your car could run on it. I can assure it is yummy first thing in the morning, kind of sets the tone for the day. Goes down very smooth with just a bit of lingering flavor that you kind of swirl around in your head for a moment then go man.... now I can taste the corn flakes! Hah!

It was great to see you once again Mike. I walked by the swap spot this morning but didnt see you or the car so kept going. Thanks for the delicious drinks!

@Sublime one hope you had a good trip home. Thanks for coming out to the BBQ and it was a pleasure to meet you and Jodi. Dana had a blast with the group and she repeatedly told me how great everyone is and wish we all lived closer together.

It was just a great time, super thanks to SLS for opening up his house to the mob! I made Jodi drive all the way home Sunday morning. I finally made her pull over at a local greasy spoon so I could get some stop leak, fried taters eggs and bacon! Cures everything. I was just thrilled they didn't serve any corn flakes! Hah!
And I would be remiss if I didn't mention Lonnie for his enduring patience of my million questions. As most on here know I come from the racing side and simply didn't know a notch back from a fast back much less the year. Lonnie finally just dragged me up and down the rows explaining the subtle differences between 67/68/69. For those that don't know he is like a walking encyclopedia of knowledge. I was "kind of" keeping up while he was explaining grills and rear ends, then we got to the interiors...... at this point my eyes rolled back in my head, glazed over and I just started bobbing my head like one of those rear window tray dogs. Having had as much corn flakes and scotch as I had, he misinterpreted my head bobbing for some resemblance of understanding. So then he dove into the differences in stitching. I was still trying to find the roll bar! Sincere thanks to Lonnie. He really helped me gain some knowledge.
 
Just back from dinner.
Nice meal. Exactly the same as last year. Good,Fast and cheap.
My buddy has been there a few times since opening, Chef Josef told him maybe he should find an electrician and get his stove fixed. That was funny!
