What's the weather like in the far east right now?
Best time of the year now. Dry season daily temps 85-95 , nights 75-85.....Dry season is Oct through April. Same temps in the rainy season. Rainy season from May through September. Rains a lot, but not all day long...

Let me know how that works out. My steering wheel has a couple of cracks and read PC-7 is a good filler. I have no idea if you paint them after?
I like PC-7. Still have a couple big cans from when I was working at the fertilizer place. I was doing repairs on pitted stainless mixing tanks. The PC-7 actually adhered to the metal better than JB Weld, but was not as durable.

The only issue I had repairing steering wheels, is, they flex, and that can lead to more cracking.......At least without power steering....

I stole this but well stated....

Sure I'll take the vaccine, just mail it to me. My health and safety is too important to show up in person. Just like the mail in voting you know is safe, secure, and honest. Just mail it to me, I'll give myself the shot and send the paperwork back saying I'm vaccinated.

Sorry, it's stuck in Pennsylvania somewhere! :poke::rofl:

The steering wheel in my ‘53 Dodge truck had lots of cracks. I washed it and then wiped it with degreaser, filed out the degraded Bakelite, and began filling the voids with JB Weld. Took several applications to fill them. After that, I sanded the JB Weld down to the level of the rest of the steering wheel and sanded the entire steering wheel. Then I wiped it down and sprayed it with black appliance paint (rattle can). Took several coats. Looks great and has held up for the past 5 years.

I tried an epoxy putty, not bad, sticks ok. The body filler is my preference, just before it fully cures i can hit it with 40 grit and almost no pressure. Its like sanding cake. When it finally tightens up, 40 grit wont really touch it. 100 not bad. But 220 makes a lot of dust, and finishes out nice. It may be too hard,at this point i just need a presentable wheel.

One more f'n thing....:BangHead:
:soapbox:Thought I would be continuing on the garage door opener this morning. But, I noticed some water on floor near the air handler last night. Condensate pump sits on the floor by it. Not the first time it overflowed, so thought that was it. As expected it was full of gunk. Algea or whatever ..Cleaned it all up and got it working good. Then I see the drips off the solenoid for the whole house humidifier. All corroded and water coming out where the wires go in. Don't think it's supposed to do that...lol. Now I need to order one of those. Also need to stop at home depot for a new filter pad(that I was planning to do anyway).

Wel, turns out i am way worse at this than i first thought. Steering wheel looks like ****. I decided to hit it with some primer, i couldnt see 1/2 the imperfections and poor workmanship. So once its dry, i will switch to finer paper and smooth it off. Maybe it will look better.

Beginning to have my doubts about that 85° with Santa Anas prediction for today. 65° with overcast and zero wind. It must be June again!
