Stop in for a cup of coffee

Havent had an adult beverage in several weeks. Maybe this weekend. Think fargo is ready to leave the yard, go for a putt through the subdivision.

Got covid tested again today at my office and this time they didn't let my put the swab in my own nose, a nurse did it and I think she poked my brain. I had watery eyes for an hour after.

Everyone was asking why I was crying.

I don't cry though

Bet this would work well for putting holes in carpet. Gasket punch in my drill. View attachment 1715646235

Best thing that ever happened to repairing rubber conveyor belts.

My old man taught me with a hand punch and a brace and bit for tightening all those nuts. 24" belt, you're looking at 40 holes to punch, 48" close to 100. Getting the cuts on the belting square was everything. Never on a nice flat surface, frequently 30' in the air on an extension ladder.

Was 30f this morning, 25 now. Guess thats the end of the nice weather up here. Winter was bound to show up sometime.

All right ya coffee mob, I just got done talking with Craig (Zman) The following is a SITREP loosely based on his condition. So he is still in the hospital, those of you who know him can easily imagine what kind of total PITA patient he likely is. You would think after that many years in the Military the guy could follow instructions, but not so much. He decides he needs to go pee so in his infinite wisdom he unplugs from the monitor. As the klaxon and sirens start wailing, the nurses station becomes a beehive of activity as they assemble the crash cart for the ensuing defibrillator event. As the nurses are careening down the hall ricocheting off the wall with the cart, patients scattering like quail so as not to be ran over by the cart, gathering speed and more nurses along the way. They hit Craig’s door with a singularity of focus, we are going to bring him back. About this time the commode flushes and Craig in his finest one sided gown looks up as he emerges from the door very much alive and is sheepishly shrugging his shoulders and doing his best WTF moment look. They get him all tucked back in and resume their shift. In an odd twist of fate Craig’s nurse is no longer super hot Cathy and Suzy. Moving forward Craig’s new nurse is a large Ex Con named Pedro who likes rainbows and unicorns and is determined to take Craig’s temperature over and over. On plus side Craig has turned the corner and looks like he will get sent home in a day or two. He is back in good shape . Thanks to all for the prayers and sage burning. It worked!
John

haha that’s awesome!

Still think covid is a hoax?
what he said below.

I know not directed at me, but seeing I think John and I were on the same page, my answer would be yes and no. I believe people are getting sick and many are dying. I do believe it is also being used as a political tool. Furthermore, I believe there is a tremendous amount of corruption in the numbers of people sick/dying from COVID - more money involved if that is how it is ruled. Just as an example: 2 locals had Stage 4 cancer - both died of COVID. Not died of the cancer they had long before and were presently dying from, but ruled from COVID. With that, both were cut off by their life insurance policies because of a stipulation of a pandemic/plague/etc. So, the hospital gets paid due to COVID, but the families get nothing.

that’s complete and utter bullshit. God I hate insurance companies

I’d have to ask, when did the get the policy and I’d demand to look at the riders. Insurance companies can’t simply change the terms after an event. That said, it’s possible they put that in there but rare.

AARP had an interesting take on it as well

60 here, shocked. 61 tomorrow, 37 Saturday and 42 Sunday.

spent today hobbling around trying to get my fence for my driveway started. I figure if I can get the posts in, I can put the rest up in snow if I had too

No go on tapping/threading steering wheel. Not enough there to drill i think. I guess if i make a small block with a slide hammer fitting. Seems like a lot of something i dont want to do. I will pretend i didnt think of it, do the right thing and torque the nut down really tight...
Most folks make a puller that attaches around the shaft, under the steering wheel. Then they make a puller that holds the part under the wheel and can be tightened, putting the pressure on the shaft while pulling the wheel up.

The reported downside of this is the base (Bakelite) of the steering wheel may crumble.

Sounds like you need a tractor steering wheel puller. Basically looks like a big H. One piece goes under the wheel, other ontop, clamps together and a big center screws down and pushes out against the shaft. We have one somewhere, I’ll find it and take a picture . Would be fairly easy to duplicate

Still no box from Indiana........:poke:
Should have been there by now. I’ll go to the PO tomorrow and make sure they actually shipped it. Had them leave the damn things sitting for a week before they took them to the bigger post office in the next county.

I understand the thought, but consider a different perspective.

I have stage 4 cancer and have been given 6 months to live. I walk down the road and get run over by a truck and killed.

What did I die from?

It wasn’t the cancer...it was from being run over by the truck.

Because I might have died from something else is irrelevant. What killed me is what actually happened. To state otherwise is like saying people dying of old age weren’t killed by electrocution from the toaster accidentally falling into the bath tub since they were already dying of old age.

I have a heart condition, not life threatening, but if i get covid it could be. So if it takes me due to an underlying condition is it still covid? Dam right! I would still be around if i didnt get it.

sure it is harder on vulnerable people, the elderly, diabetic and all other types of health issues. But without covid, most would live to die of more or less natural causes.

going into month 2 of lockdown and numbers arent really dropping, know why? complacency. Its not the ones that actually undestand the consequences that are spreading it.

A community not far from here had big numbers per capita, because the church refused to follow public health orders. And the reeve of the community was heading anti- mask protests. Hes still bucking the health ministers orders.

Partially restored but still f’ed up. Half as bad as it was...maybe. Better is good, but still not well. Double vision, optical confusion, World spinning, severe eye strain, etc...even 8 months later.

Just call me a long hauler.

This bug sux.
That sucks, Hopefully it will continue to improve. Maybe once (if)they get control of the virus itself, they can also figure out ways to reverse some of the effects.
