Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well I did again picked up 64 rust bucket! For parts, Hey who is into old tractors?

My lower leg that had the infection from the knee injury started aching and burning a bit today so I went to see the Doc this afternoon just to be cautious.

Looks like the damn infection is trying to come back. 10 more days of antibiotics, see the Doc again after the first 5 days...ugh!

I'm glad I didn't wait to go see him but, damn...this thing is really pissing me off! :banghead:
Well that bites! Hopefully the antibiotics will get rid of that bad stuff.

A 64 custom Valiant going to strip it. Was allowed into this old guys personal space all I can say is wow. Model a's at least twenty of them and old 1920's tractors. Never see that stuff.

Well my wife decided she wanted another larger piece of artwork to hang over the sofa in the family room and she insisted that it be one of my pieces of art.

So, I just ordered a 40"h x 60"w canvas print of this piece that she selected from my library of images. It's a giant sycamore tree that I photographed from the rear deck of our old house and reworked in a painted graphic style...

That's nice. I got 2 sycamores in my front yard. Pretty trees, but messy as hell.. not as bad as the Mulberry out back tho!

This particular tree is 60" tall and has beautiful bark. I wouldn't want it in my yard though, they really are 'dirty' trees and create a mess 4 times a year. Magnolias are nearly as bad (pretty though) but Mulberry's are the worst!

Mulberry's aren't great looking trees and are very dirty, but they are strong as hell and they earn their name of "Iron Wood". They wouldn't be so bad if they didn't have the damn berries!

I had a fruitless mulberry at one of my houses. Nice shade tree. And no nasty mess.

I still have a couple mulberry trees at the very back of my property. Tasty berries if you can get any before the birds. I originally had more, but got rid of any near the house and more important the cars. Birds pig out and look for something shiney to drop their berry bombs on. As far as the mess from the direct drops, I also have a chestnut, and a few black walnuts...

Black walnuts are messy too and they can do a number on a car or other "dentable" property when they drop. Nice trees though and very valuable for their wood.

Back in Cincinnati I knew a few folks who bought a few acres of generally worthless property just to plant black walnut trees on as a retirement investment. At $10-20k/mature tree, they were looking at several hundred thousand dollars in harvested trees after 30 years and then resell the property for a few thousand more.

Like my head. Can get a little scary mowing under them when they are loaded with nuts in the fall. Have never been hit, but have come close.
I have made a few pieces of furniture from black walnut. Very nice to work with.and beautiful natural color.

somewhere I got the impression that passenger side leaf springs have one more leaf than the driver side ????

I went to put a leaf spring in and I thought it was the passenger side but the front shackle bolt hits the frame rail ......so now I don't remember what side it came from on the donor car.

wouldn't it make sense that the front shackle bolts should be oriented so the bolt head goes towards the frame rail to not interfere and the nut and the excess bolt length would point out to not interfere or get too close to the frame rail ???

does anyone sell new original style rear end U-bolts ??

the originals have a "saddle" on the top the hugs the axle tube .......most U-bolts are just "U"ed bolts, there is no saddle on the top and that bothers me because I am going to do more than one car and they all have to match to pass the bolt audit, so I need original style U-bolts

Good day all!:coffee2: TGIF..... Notice came for a package I must pick up from the Post Office....holding thumbs:D

Busy two weeks ahead: I've taken leave, my brother and his family from the UK are visiting! My little niece is 3 years old, I 've only seen her once since birth....some spoiling to do.:blob:

Hi Ters!

Sounds like good times! 3yo:s are adorable. Best age.

And good morning everyone!

Planting walnut trees as a retirement fund sounds like a great idea. I wonder what would work over here...

I have seen the correct style for sale on the web.. YearOne maybe? Of course if they have them, then someone else does too... maybe search EBay?
