Stop in for a cup of coffee

maybe dumb question.

What's the story on those Cragers?
I thought they were cast aluminum center rivetted to steel rims.
These look to be welded so either are all steel or all aluminum.

I don't know if all Cragars are all the same but when Ulf @65dartcharger restores them, he takes them apart and welds them back together. Hopefully he will stop by and fill us in on how he does it.

They have a repair center?

Does it have 'ratchet' on the rear face that need reshaping?
Sounded like Willy knows at least a bit about how they work.
It does and that’s what I’m wondering. I bought this for my FIL 10 years ago, inherited it back so who knows what it’s gone thru. At one point he was talking about trying to shove a 22 mag cylinder in it . I’m guessing he probably did and messed it up

My cousin Marv doing some good work. The host is a little out there but her heart is i the right place. LOL

I think I need to send this revolver off to a gun smith. It’s a simple single stage revolver that appears to be stripped internally

Not sure what you mean. It looks like a single action with side gate loading like Single Action Army etc. There is nothing 'simple' about a revolver mechanism that I've seen so far. Insides are always a bit of clockwork. On the other hand (pun not intended) if it locks up on 2 of the six, then it would seem to be a matter of adjusting the ratchets.

Check the lock up position with a range rod to make sure the chambers align with the barrel and forcing cone. Or you might be able to eyeball it if the firing pin is hammer mounted.

if those are good then it the hand to cylinder relationship.

Remove the cylinder and look at the ratchets, or whatever Heritage calls 'em. S&W calls them ratchets IIRC. Traditionally they are hand fitted. Now with modern manufacturing somewhat less so - maybe.

Try contacting the manufacturer?
Yeah I sent them an email and this video and pics. 3/6 line up fine, the other 3 I have to lock the cylinder in place. You can also see damage on the cylinder on those 3 slots. Where the firing pin hit the cylinder.

I grind off the welds and push out the center piece. Then send the rims to a chrome shop to get them re-chromed. In the meantime I polish the center section to mirror shine. Next step is to push in the center piece in the exact same spot in the re-chromed rim. Next step is to grind off some chrome on the inside of the center piece behind each spoke. The last step is to weld the center piece to the rim.

Thanks Ulf.

Drove 2 hours to attend a wedding, get to the hotel where they are taking pictures and no idea where to find them. And not answering or replying to messages. And the place is huge. Bride could have explained it a little better.

Oh, Morning!
Was raining on the way here, but its nice now. Outdoor wedding, at an aparrently undisclosed location. Maybe because her ex is a dick? He seems to try and disrupt all sorts of things.

The right drum came off fairly easily, after I unadjusted the brakes, the left side doesn't want to release from the axle hub although it is loose from the shoes. This Cuda has heavy duty brakes all the way around. 11x2 and 1/2 in the rear, and look it even has self adjusters. The brake shoes even look good still.Have sprayed the left side all around the axle where it meets the drum and going to let it set for a while. I did tap on it. I repeat tap not hit the drum with a small Hammer to help break it loose. I don't want to ruin these drums. They look like originals and they are finned, with very little ridge inside.
