It's Thunderbird Thursday!

Good morning :D

So technical question to the brain trust. Clark of Indiana Fever in woman’s NBA is getting just beat to pieces in a league filled with men, playing for a shred of what NBA players make. Her career will be shortened dramatically by the continued beatings in the WNBA. Is there some kind of rule or law that won’t allow her to play in the NBA? What would keep her from joining NBA? The boon financially to the team that accepted her would surely offset the crap and turmoil that would follow. She would quadruple her money overnight and darn sure has the skill to play in any league on the planet. Full disclosure I have never watched a NBA game but I have watched a lot of March Madness bracket play. That girl can play anywhere!

I am getting ready to start teaching grandson land navigation with a compass and a map. Reading a compass is a lost art now that every phone is equipped with GPS guidance. But what if we lost access to GPS?

I think that is great! One of the coolest things I have in my head. I could use a refreshing

As good as she is in the WNBA... She'd get destroyed in the NBA.

She's a 6' 154 pound Guard

NBA average is probably 6'3" to 6' 8" and about 190 pounds.

Yep you don’t use it you lose it! My skills were super rusty which is why I snagged the compass for dummies book! I would read this or that and go o crap that’s right I totally forgot that. Both books are pretty well written and a good resource for the grandson. Last hunting season I had him lead us back via the compass but he was a bit too young I think. But he is going into the third grade this year so I think it is time. He is wicked smart.

Get all crazy with intersection and resection along with laying in LAT/LON onto your 1:24...

Next step in training would be FDC?

The irony in this is the DNR here just announced it will not longer be printing or selling paper maps for the state parks and wants everyone to use their cell phones… which as one who has hiked probably 60 percent of the state parks , most don’t have cell reception past the camp grounds haha

But SpaceX and Starlink are giving the entire Earth web capabilities
I think maybe this coming launch from Vandenberg may be the final Starlink launch.
Upcoming schedule into '26 shows no Starlink activity

That little guy is becoming a regular
