She was always walking the road. She was in decent shape but UGLY! Did I say that before? So she was walking by and saw me in the yard and decided to come over and talk to me. I am forested as well as I say I cannot see a neighbor in any direction but I only have neighbors on 3 sides
Oh. Yep, you did say she was an ugly gall, in need of conversation. Lol

Good morning all.
goooooood morning!! I just finnished up watering my Japanese maples and tomato plants, ferns and asparagus with rain water out of a two gallon radiator style fill up tank. Figure it's from the 50es or 60es.

Now this is the smoke I like to smell

I don't think the smoke that south county is smelling is the Santa Maria Style smoke they're used to :BangHead: . That brush fire is still raging and the smoke is blowing SE to the highly populated regions of the central coast, not even a hint of it here. 73K acres now 7% containment.

I would if I had a good mess of it, I try my best to have it twice a week, but looks like I will have to go buy some myself, or wait till about Friday morning to make another harvest, chit grows fast, I believe I will let it start going to seed now, do that every year so I have a bigger crop each year, start you a plot of it, do it near a telephone pole, it waters then good in the spring because of all the dew thats collected.

Good idea, I never grew it before but I should.

Ho yea they are delicious BBQed.
Mushroom farm just up the beach, they would cull the really big ones out of their harvests because the markets didn't like them. Most of them just got turned into fertilizer and re-used. They also put them big ones out on their little roadside produce stand at a substantial discount of the markets  .

Yep, grab a couple plants that is already established (2 years old,) and drop it in the ground, leave it and forget it till you see finger popping up, harvest every 3 to 4 days, just cut at near 2 inches off the ground, keep it harvest, don't let them grow very high, maybe 7 to 8 inches, cutting them kicks in there root system to make more.. no problem to grow

The hard part growing it is that you can’t hardly get it into the house without eating it! Snap a stalk eat a stalk! My Shepard Hemi (RIP) would watch me harvest the garden. Next thing you knew my asparagus was getting cropped to the ground. I thought it was raccoons, nope it was Hemi Dog! She loved it.
