Stop in for a cup of coffee

So, apparently I have developed a problem in my left eye. I was fine on Wednesday. On Thursday I noticed something floating in front of my pupil in the left eye. Looked like a small squiggly line like maybe a small piece of hair or something. Obviously I tried to flush it out but that didn't work. It moves around with my eye so it must be in place. Called my doctor's office and of course they can't get me an appointment until the 25th. I haven't seen an eye doctor in 25 years. Lol . I tried to flush it with water in the shower. Tomorrow I'm going to get some regular eye flush. See what happens. Don't like it when my eyesight ain't right.......

Floaters. I get them all the time. Dehydration or dry eyes are common reasons.
Some info for you.

Symptoms of eye floaters may include:

  • Small shapes in your vision that appear as dark specks or knobby, transparent strings of floating material
  • Spots that move when you move your eyes, so when you try to look at them, they move quickly out of your line of vision
  • Spots that are most noticeable when you look at a plain bright background, such as a blue sky or a white wall
  • Small shapes or strings that eventually settle down and drift out of the line of vision

Thanks Wolfie. Good news. I could see well enough to eat this for dinner.

Bad storms today. Took the top half of a maple off which ripped the power off the house, bending the tower and damaging the power meter. Power company came right out as live wires in my yard was bad.??? Then needed an electrician to fix the meter box and tower. Neighbor came over with the work van. All in took 2 hours, just in time for next round of storms.

That's a crazy wall.cloud Eric. Glad the roof went unscathed at least (??)

Wait a second. You have a 4 barrel on with the pushbutton?

If so, did you swap to the 4 barrel factory kick-down linkage? Yes, it makes a big difference on push buttons
( didn't know that but was the reason I was asking about the intermediate rod adjustmentper the FSM

Yeah. Doesnt seem to have hit the house. I wasn't home, at the grocery store at the time. Ran through torrential rain and 6" of flooded parking lot, then drove along flooded roads. Not like Milwaukee last weekend, but pretty deep. Pic is on my way into the grocery store.

I keep getting letters and emails from the power company about my responsibility for the line from the pole to the house and how I need this extra insurance from them to cover any repairs or damage

I don't know if the letters are legit but the responsibility division seems plausible.
IIRC here the power lines are the company's but the lead to the meter is the property owner's even though the meter is theirs.
The water tap into the main is property owner's even though the meter inside the basement is theirs.
But for the gas line, PGW handles everything upto and including the meter in the house.

Yeah..I did the math.

The letters are for a 3rd party ... seems like trying to scare property owners and that annoys me.

Them firefighters must have a good handle on that nearby brushfire. 70sum% contained and unlike yesterday's massive column of smoke, today no smoke visible from here. Many of the evacuation warnings and orders have been deleted.

For some people a utility insurance is worth it because it can be a big hit for someone without cash or liquidity.
But if you have the savings or abiltiy to cover an expense of that magnitude, then you retain control over the repair, and also aren't getting bled every month.

Here, the power company owns to the connection on house. Property owner from there to meter and in house.

The electrician neighbor refused any money. Said we are neighbors, we help. That was do nice!

Yeah... the letter gives an example average cost. The "insurance" payments would exceed the cost after a year

Chris, it's always been about a 4 barrel Holley on top of an Edelbrok LD4B intake.

Welcome to the circus buddy :poke:
Somehow I have missed that all along.

What kickdown linkage are you running?

Here. The power company owns just to the pole or transformer . The line to the house, meter and the connections all are property owned
