I hit a scratch off for 12K in Cali. They take 1/4 automatically. So right before tax time i went to the dog track and got a shopping bag of loosing tickets to claim. Pretty funny the accountant said they were all the same date for gambling losses! Well I had a off day then I guess! Worked.
