Shouldn't the air go through the grille? My grille is just an open plastic grid. As long as there is as much open space as face of radiator, it should not matter.
right but it hits the flat surface of the core support

eh - aluminum is lighter, and if you believe that they don't do a better job by virtue of the opening for air intake is the same - then simply that they are lighter and they don't rust is enough reason to get one...

I actually have an original spec unit that I was going to use in my last car - and if the Scamp didn't have the aluminum one in there when I bought it, I doubt I would have spent the coin..

So, the real improvement would be to funnel that air through the rad. Otherwise you guy with the 27 row super size aluminum might as well use a heater core in there. lol
thats what i was thinking actually

Well, I was kinda doin a :poke:... Alum is lighter, but original brass don't rust.

Well had my first chicken and waffles experience. Gotta say, pretty darn good! Not a big wing fan,(lot of work for the amount of meat) but man were they tasty!

Still no start on my GTS 383 this morning..:BangHead::BangHead:
Looks like it has spark.. but looks a little weak to me... Has a pertronix unit in the dist.
So.... I pulled all the plugs... PIA...and cleaned em all up...they were all wet with fuel...
Cranked the engine with no plugs... got fuel flyin out of #7 and #8 since they are down hill...
Got other Honey do's to do .. so I'll let it dry out real good and put the plugs back in tomorrow....
