Stop in for a cup of coffee

Nah ....actually I am proud that I kicked my Mt dew drinking problem a couple months ago.

I had a real problem because I got to where I was drinking a 2 litre bottle a day and just chugging the stuff and I was not feeling all that great anymore. Water only for the last 2 months and I feel a lot better. :glasses7:

Outstanding Raini  soda's and energy drinks will do allot of harm :glasses7: Smart move and proud to hear this today

I just realized that its Friday the 13th .....I better be careful when my black cat comes in for his breakfast. :evil3:

That color on the GTO looks great, just a classic color to me. What happened to that brown/bronze color you were leaning towards?

Yes !! Good morning Mike, do you have your truck running outside to warm up sir :coffee2:

I will probably change my mind about 100 times before I actually have the paint mixed ....and maybe even a few times after that. :D

picking a color has the been the hardest part of the whole project ......why does there have to be soooo many colors ...........

It stinks having color vision instead of blindness! With the price of paint nowadays there is no going back. I was blown away how much a gallon of base cost last year.

I mix and match systems to keep the cost down ....that and my family has relatives who own a paint shop here so I get my paint at "shop" discount.

I use the PPG and usually the more expensive base coat for better color brilliance and the Omni Au clear coat. Omni is a great system on the cheap but I don't think the color brilliance is there, especially in greens.

When its a solid color I go single stage but it there is any metallic at all the clear coat is a must for me. On this car I am even considering a more modern mica.

Are you taking the woodgrain off your wagon?

I had to because the woodgrain trim on the driver side was junk. the driver side doors were replaced at some point in the last 40 years and whoever did it, used wood screws drilled through the trim to re-attach it to the car. :banghead:

that and some of the trim pieces were missing.

Rani , I know I am just one of many folks showing colors but this is a color to look at, I think it would look great and show off the lines on the wagon , just a thought I wanted to share this morning with my coffee :coffee2:

Dumb question, How do you replace the woodgrain? Decal?

they built the wagon out of wood originally because the original owner was a pirate and would say Ayeeee matey here be me dodge. :joker::joker:

just kidding ....yes its a decal. The decal they make really bonds too ...I had to use chemical stripper and 36 grit to get the original wood decal off. Someone had painted over the woodgrain with brown paint at some point too so it looked horrible

that reminds me of the 71 72 tawny gold metallic just a little lighter

Well folks I have to split and go have me a Big Al's breakfast this morning, fried country ham, biscuits and gravy and hash browns and scrambled egg's under my gravy on the biscuits :D You all have a great day your way  I have to get moving, thank you all for the :coffee2: break this morning, you all where fun this morning

Woodgrain is a ***** to install. It was quite popular back in the late 70s and early 80s when I was at the Buick dealer. We had to replace it all on one LeSabre wagon to get it all to match. They used transparent, translucent, or opaque on different colored bases so matching just one panel usually wasn't a option.
