yeah but i want to keep the push button function.
For sure not gong to be able to use a reverse pattern valve body to work.... And a manuel would be a pain in the ***.. I had a 61 Fury with a pushbutton cast iron 727 Torque flite. Was not a sporty shifting car....
probably just upgrade the clutches and cooling of it. this is a long way off goal of course. oh, I forgot to tell you all, my buddy managed to finally get the hub off the spindle on the polara last night!! guess he popped the ball joints and took it into the shop under a 40 ton press and popped it off. the big bearing was full of mud and water and had rusted to the spindle. so should be able to roll the thing onto the trailer now

Friend of mine has a 63? Fury.
Low 11 car. Ran it with the pusbutton shift,had a grab handle mounted to dash so he could hold on and shift.

Pop hood, hook up jumpers and try it. Nope,get out of truck and go wiggle cables. Go back to crank it over,f’n door is locked!
Go in shop, look for something to hit unlock button. 3/16” brake tubing. Cut a piece and i go. Pry door,lucky its on 1st catch.slide tube in,nope! Too short, go cut another,and try to release lock. Can see button,but i have to do it while holding my breath,otherwise window frosts up,bare hands,fingers numb holding my breath in howling wind standing on my tiptoes. All over a pos battery....

It all went into a scrap container yesterday! Was not to happy, did not buy a thing not even lunch, They bought a few tractor trailers worth though, definitely a different day! Just got back a few ago.
