Stop in for a cup of coffee

Yes, solid lifters don't bleed down so some of the valves stay open when it's shut down. That leads to rust on those valves and in those cylinders if the car sits for a long time.
Gotcha. I'm gonna borrow my FILs bore scope and inspect it, I'll try to do the valves

I do think it may have a trans linkage problem. All the buttons when pressed engage and stay pressed in except for the Drive button.

Just found several single quad intakes on the 50s Plymouth page for 100- 150. So if anything, I'll go that route eventually. Dual quads seem like more trouble than it's worth

That Polara actually looks pretty good. A pressure washer and some soap will do ponderous things to a viewpoint.

What are the long term plans for the girl?

I bet you are going to find a lot more than that issue.
Oh I fully expect too

honestly , not sure. For now, roadkill it and cruise it if I can get it safe and running for next year while I build my dart. Beyond that, not sure. Dart has to get finished first. Only thing ruled out is a part out

Yeah. Just spent the last hour skyping the last driver/ owner of the polara. The brother of my buddy who it was given too after it was parked. I got some interesting stories about the tire marks on the doors and the dents in the right rear as well as a few other dents.

There's an old, long, unpatrolled road here in the county that runs along the river . It's actually very wide for a gravel road and lots of curves. Guess during high school decades ago, kids would go out there to race . Tire scuff marks on the left side are from a collision with a Skylark and the right side is from another car that lost it and drove into the side of him.

I cant imagine racing a 64 Polara 4 door with a Two BBl poly. Unless racing snails. :poke:

Don't know. He never said he won. I know the road he's talking about. It's very loose dirt/gravel. Too much power could actually be a bad thing on that road.

Honestly, I'd love to throw a 440 big block into it. But I kind of wanna keep it original. I know it's not gonna have any value being a 4 door so I could do whatever but just feel like the poly deserves to stay. Guess it'll depend on condition of the engine. If the poly is rusted and toast, then a 440 with a mild build may go in. I've got 3 440 blocks sitting here.

It's all in the rear gear. That 61 was a boat and probably had a 2:76. The 64 is mid sized may have a 3:23. Quite a difference in mine when I went from a 2:97 to a 3:23. Then I screwed it all up by putting on 255/60-15's :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:
