Coming down the grape vine, a steep hill in so Cal on I 5, in my 78 F250 with a 390, blew a fan belt. In the dark. The belt runs the water pump and the alt. I used a pair of nylons from my girl friends legs! Worked fine all the way to Fontana, about 80 milesI've also used twine for a fan belt too.
