Stop in for a cup of coffee

I'm going to go buy a better air compressor. I want one to air up the truck and trailer tires nothing else. I'd like one small enough to put in the trailer when I take extended road trips.

Thinking the eight gallon size, quick recovery, 150psi??

Don't want junk any recommendations??
Doesn't take much to air up tires. I need to get a new one myself. Found a pin hole in bottom of my tank recently -11gal 2HP that I got used years ago off CL. Might check how the pressure switch is set up. If I can knock it down to 50-60 in the tank, I would not be afraid to continue using it temporarily. But It's going to leak down every time I turn it off, so never going to have air right away. I have one that is just for tires, but so slow...

Yep have a small one I use for car tires and kids stuff. Its to small and takes so long to air up anything larger.

Didn't you replace most the ignition stuff when you got it?

Yes I did Keith...looking forward to finding out the whole story about what was wrong, what was done, and what was used. I remember back then the setup used was meant to save me money, but it didn't turn out that way. I won't find a more honest guy than Mr. Davis to work on it, but he has other customers who need their everyday cars fixed too.

what is the current problem with it?

It was getting hard to start when warmed up, then it started stalling out when warm and in slow, stop-and-go driving. There was no fuel appearing in the filter. Could always get it running by pouring fuel in the carb, but that gets old fast. So I left it with Mr. Davis, I haven't gotten the whole story of what he found, yet.

Here's a good one. Old Mill Phil a friend of mine. Check out the short article. Winged Warriors/National B-Body Owners Association - Enduro SuperBird

Doesn't sound like ignition has much to do with it. I don't know much about how to resolve, but sounds like 'vapor lock'. Fuel vaporizes in line and it cant pump...

I agree...someone even suggested vapor lock was because weather was hot but gas companies hadn't switched over from winter to summer formulations of gasoline. I know Mr. Davis would not replace anything that didn't need it. He is good about that.

All the rain plus the fertilizer made the Rhododendron bushes in front of the house bloom spectacularly this year...

Well, back from the DMV, did not get in the door, All day wait, it looked like. I will be there at 7AM tomorrow.

There must be a DMV down there that is less popular and more service friendly.
Yep I live in a larger city. Friends usually go to the smaller county DMV and have little, or no wait.

Security at our DMV's are retired law enforcement, so I never have to wait. :D
