Stop in for a cup of coffee

I did stay up last night before work trying to wrestle with this timing but I am having trouble with it and as someone else pointed out ....the chain already looks loose and its a brand new cloyes set.

problem I am having now is I cant get ahold of a timing cover gasket unless I buy a whole gasket set. :evil3:

Are you still delivering papers? How is Rani day auto repair going?

Plus I am not sure how to prime the oil pump ..... on v8 s you can take out the dizzy and gear shaft thingy and there is a slot for a priming rod on a drill to turn the pump. ..... but on a slant , I have no idea how that is going to work

Are you doing that for someone or is that yours?

And you are the one with all the good advice when I was struggling with mine and now you are having questions? Who did I put my faith in? Ha ha ha....

you could call it a family car lol ....its started out as my cousins car that he bought years ago and drove it through HS then he gave it to a relative and she drove it through college, and then they gave it to me and I drove it for a couple years when I was a lot younger.

Then the car cooked some wires in the column and then I gave it back to the original cousin who had it and then we pushed it behind the barn with some electrical problems for a couple of years and now its being brought back to life. The whole project is taking wayyyyy too long and its blocking a garage bay so I finally decided to get on it and try to get it done.....but its been a problem child

Darn...now it is time to get ready for work...I am too old for this! Have a great day!

Morning All !!Is Slant Six Dan still around ?? He would know for sure. I've never done one , but I'm guessing that it is below the dist shaft. I would pull the dist and rig up a priming devise.

Morning all, cooooold here this morning. Rani I just did a chain on mine and it also seemed loose. I had a problem setting the timing and it turned out that stupid bracket on the bottom of the dizzy was off (needed adjustment). I forgot they had them!

It is driven directly by the gear on cam. You need to turn the cam with the chain off if you want to drive the pump. Otherwise you fill it from the hole at the filter.

Good morning, the last lukewarm sips in the mug, time to get out of bed and get things done. Sunny and '50's today in the low country.

Morning. Late start today, coffee still tastes great.

No Idea yet, Need to take some pics for a member of rear seatbelt bolt locations. And send some gas tank rings out. A roll my own day. At least it will be around 40 today!
