It's like working on your car.. nobody will do it as well as you will do it. It's a pride thing, and people working for a paycheck these days don't have much of that.

Exactly. That's why I like to do things myself. Done my way to my standards.

My brother used to tell me back in the day that most of the body shops that he was connected with wouldn't do body work for me as I'm too picky... :finga:

Really? What's wrong with wanting your car to turn out right? Am I supposed to accept flaws when I paid them to do the job? If I would accept flaws, I would do it myself and live with the mistakes. But if I did it myself, I wouldn't let the mistakes go, I would take the time to get it right or pay someone to get it right... THAT'S WHAT I PAY THEM FOR... rotest:

If they don't want to do the work for me, then that's fine. They most likely wouldn't have done the job to my satisfaction... So how am I loosing out on guys that would do a half-assed job not wanting to work for me.... I would be better off doing it myself.... :violent1:

How can a "professional" shop put out work that doesn't meet up to "professional standards"??? I don't get it.... #-o

I've got a son 24 and daughter 18. Both are out of the house now, but I usually only got yard help if I put in a special request when the were here....
I fully understand the quality issues with lawn service ( and contractors in general). In my last job, I hired and fired several lawn services over the years. What they say is rarely what they do. Did you know it's easier to pick up one big piece of trash than 900 little ones? LOL

Nope, just getting ready for church. It's Conformation Sunday so the 10:00 service will be packed so we will go to the 11:15 service to leave room for everyone else.

I'm back in for a coffee break. Just cut down a large zebra grass and thinned out some dead stuff in the Ivy. Also did my pre-mowing cleanup of the doggie drop zone.

Was up late talking with a friend, it felt so good to do that, hadn't done that in a long time. You get entangled in petty people at the workplace and with all of the little aggravations in life and forget how precious life is and how lucky we are to have solid homes and our loved ones. Oops. It was me. And i sharted just a bit. Had to take a shower. Then i went and pulled weeds in the yard for 5 hours cuz i got a worthless f^@&ing neighbor who is the epitome of white trash and lets his yard go to seed all year long. Sorry i bailed on you. Done bitching now, carry on.

Had a Mennonite guy and his buggy here and fed the guy s some beers and when he was ready to go the guy Caleb asked if he needed a ride in his buggy home. Only me.
