Stop in for a cup of coffee

Morning Karl. Sorry no home remedies to help with.

Hi Ray. That's ok. I think that I have started down the road to recovery.

I prefer natural remedies to using prescription drugs. If I suffer more than 3-4 days, then I call the father-out-law for a prescription...

There is no cure for us Karl, just understanding by others!

I am very anti meds unless I have to. I barley take an asprin! Just the vertigo stuff which just takes the edge off.

If you needs some hops you make a tea out of them and they mellow you out and also help women with morning sickness. I am just full of worthless stuff this morning.

My youngest son got a scholarship yesterday. Not a full one, but it's better than nothing...

He graduates in a week and a half...

He had straight A's last time I checked, hopefully he can keep it going till the end...

He's interested in going into computer tech. He already built a super computer from scratch with the help of his brother's geek friends. It's a 6 core processor, has a solid state something or other that boots up in 6 seconds, two double video cards, and 64 ram. He likes to on-line game...

I had him talk to the head of the mechanical design dept at our local comm college. They have a new degree in Mecha-tronics, it combines mechanical and electrical engineering. Then Purdue has the continuation of the program to get a bachelor's degree. It is cool because they merge electrical and mechanical in one degree. You can design your "widget" and also program any electrical parts on it for a fully integrated product. I'm not sure if he'll go with it, but he has interest in computers and mechanical stuff. I'm teaching him how to rebuild a 360, and he's started tinkering with old vintage mini-bikes. So he does have an interest in mechanical also...

But he has to choose his own path, I just want him to be aware of his options...

That sounds cool to me. I tell you one thing I wish I got into was the Air Force Bio med career field. Never knew about it until I was in advanced electronics school and had a few kids in the class with me. Get out and starting salary is 150k in the 90's!

Yes, I'll take over the counter stuff to help relieve the symptoms, like decongestant when I'm stuffy, and asprin for headaches and to help keep fevers down... :pale:

I don't like how most of the prescription meds have so many side affects... :finga:

I was on prevacid for acid reflux. I didn't realize until after I got off of it, that it would make it harder to hold out to go to the bathroom. Sometimes having to run to make it.... :finga:

Now that I got off of it, I don't have that problem any more. I thought it was a symptom of getting older.... :banghead:

I think that the drug companies plan the side affects in, so they can sell more drugs to fight those symptoms also... Job security...

You need to find him a ROKON it is bigger than a mini bike but smaller than a motorcycle. Two wheel drive and will go anywhere! You used to find them beat up for a few hundred. I had a few and loved them, just heavy when the tires were filled with fluids (gas or water for the road) Look them up really cool.

Good morning, I see you guys were on early and disappeared...
Hope you get through your cold soon Karl. I do pretty well with NyQuil/ DayQuil. If I'm sick enough that those dont work I tend to be a miserable bastard. Luckily that doesn't happen often. LOL

Perry county need to drop some papers to the VA rep. I really like her, we asked for a doctors report on my case on a day I supposedly had an exam and it came back that I never had the exam they closed my case on. Told my old one that at least ten times...She is a bulldog! Did more in two weeks than my old one did in 5 years!

You found someone in government that works?! Hope the progress continues.

FYI, got my mirror. It's actually better than it looked. The pedestool part was dull like chrome was stripped... Turned out to be primer overspray. Wiped right off with laquer thinner. The housing is angled in more than the drivers side, so I'm sure it would work OK, but will still look for convex glass. No rush, it's not goin anywhere for a while. I may find a cheapy stick on mirror to mount it and get an idea how it looks.

Yeah, I'm a miserable bastard... :pale:

I used to use nyquil, but they took the decongestant out of it so it can be sold off the shelf instead of behind the pharmacy so you have to be accused of running a meth lab to buy it... :finga:

I hate that I can only buy one box at a time and have to show my ID... Really??? What about single parents with kids when all the family gets sick and you can't buy enough for your family... :pale:

So you have to stock pile it while you aren't sick so you have enough to run a meth lab in case you and the rest of the family get sick at the same time... Doesn't that go against what they are trying to do anyway?? #-o

The meth lab guys need more than a few boxes, so they now steal it in cases.... I don't think the law is doing what they intended it to do, as usual....

They punish everyone because af a few... :finga:

I have mirror envy!

It has just enough pits and scratches to match the driver side and door handles I got from salvage yard. My originals are really rough looking.
You ever been to Baughman's in York? Hes got a bunch of a-bodies. Been picked over pretty good, but i keep finding stuff.

No I have not. My kids friend must have gone to Klingers up here he dropped of a dart fender emblem and two custom scripts to me yesterday while I was out.

That actually tells me a lot. Kind of a key indicator on how stripped out the cars are. There are hardly any emblems on the cars at Baughmans. I'll want to trek on up there sometime...

Hi and by Mike I have to run and feed the ducks and hit the road. Later guys!

I'm back up now. Feeling much better, the head is more clear now, I think the fever and scratchy throat are gone.. Not all gone, but feeling better... :)

The sleep helped, and I did try a cup of tea with lemon, honey, and ginger and felt a little better after that also... :coffee2:

Now to run around town and scout out a few hotels for the out-laws and ex to stay for the son's graduation. Hopefully find one with a nice pool and stuff that me and the boys can take advantage of while they are here.... Hee, hee, hee... :D
