You can mod the /6 wiring harness if it is in good shape.
i looked into an over haul kit, figured $230 upfront is a lot better than 3k down the line.I have a 8 1/4 and it seems to handle it well so far. REBUILD the tranny! Just blew mine and it was a used one I got with the motor.
If I had to have one... I dont think more than $100 each for engine and trans. If your lucky enough to find a buyer. There's too many around. Unless its recent rebuild, or some 'special' parts, maybe a bit more. But even then there's the 'who worked on it question'. I would be surprised If anyone took it as trade...

Just ordered one from Jeggs, mine has a hole in the case so by the time I would get a core and the parts it is just a few hundred more so what the hell!
My harness was in great shape so I just checked it out and did the mods as needed and changed some terminals out.

Man I was a wiring fool on the 130's! Rewired at least 8 full fuel tank indicating wiring systems. Prob about 3/8 mile of wire on each one!

Since you said ypu are going to have it running...keep it in to sell. Much better chance of getting higher $ if buyer can at least hear it run. Better yet if they can drive it. Then your tranny value goes up a bit. Still most will consider it a core unless you can show low miles or receipts.
